Indian School of Mines, which is shortly known as (ISM) situated in Dhanbad, was bought up in 1926. This institute is 1 of the most fabled universities for technological education and research in India. This institute was arranged for the status of a deemed to be university in 1967 under UGC and approved by AICTE. Since its formation, this institute has experienced significant expansion of its activities, and currently, it can be measured as a total technology education institute.

ISM institute supports the students in Research and Development like Construction of 3D Surface from Incompatible Curves, Synthesis of polynuclear metal complexes from metal ligands of group 14 elements and their catalytic activities and they also conduct several fests like SRIJAN is the annual inter-college Cultural Fest of ISM, Pratibimb which is the annual ten-day inter-departmental cultural competition is held in January.
