IIT Bombay Courses

86+ IITB Courses are available at undergraduate, graduate, dual-degree, and doctorate levels. The courses span a variety of topics, including engineering, management, humanities, and pure sciences. The IIT Bombay UG courses include four-year BTech, BDes, and BS degrees. MTech, MDes, MBA, and MSc are the PG courses available at IIT Bombay.

Admission to all courses requires national-level examinations. The institution offers Ph.D. and MS degrees as well. Students are admitted based on institute-based admission examinations to these programs, which are separated into seven streams. The final admission letter is provided following the interview rounds.

IIT Bombay B Tech Admission

JEE Advanced scores determine admission to IIT Bombay's BTech program. After clearing the 12th exams, applicants need to appear for JEE Main Exam. Candidates who have passed the JEE Main within the rank of 2,50,000 will be entitled to register for the JEE Advanced. In addition, there is an IIT Bombay JEE Main minimum qualifying cutoff criteria, and applicants need to score accordingly. Later, Students who wish to enroll in IITs for B Tech must undertake JEE Advanced.

Students must clear JEE advanced with an eligible score that should be identical to the IIT B Tech Bombay Cut off. Qualified students have to register for JOSAA counseling online by logging into the official website.

IIT Bombay M Tech Admission

Admission to the M Tech in IIT Bombay is based on the GATE score followed by COAP Counselling. Applicants must qualify in GATE with an eligible score equivalent to the IIT Bombay GATE Cut off. After qualifying for the exam, applicants must participate in GATE COAP Counselling. Candidates holding a B Tech degree from any IITs with an 8.00 CGPA will be exempted from the GATE qualification /cutoff. Such candidates can apply based on their UG degree marks.

IIT Bombay Scholarships

To assist students in managing their money, IIT Bombay provides a range of financial aid and scholarships. These scholarships are granted based on merit and need through government, private, and institute-provided initiatives. Some of the most popular IIT Bombay scholarships are as follows:

IIT Bombay Merit-based Scholarships: These scholarships are available to 25% of the sanctioned intake of UG students whose yearly parental income is less than 5 lakhs. This program waives tuition costs and grants a stipend of INR 40,000 each year. Female students can also apply for a women's merit prize of INR 10,000.

Named Scholarships: Provided to UG students enrolled in UG and dual degree programs by IITB alumni and well-wishers. The scholarship is judged on merit and financial necessity, including JEE/UCEED rank and a gross income of fewer than 5 lakhs.

Fee Remission: IIT Bombay provides fee waivers to economically challenged students enrolled primarily in B.Tech, B. S, B.Des, or Dual Graduate degrees. Ques. Is Olympiad admission to IIT Bombay possible?

Ans. According to the institute, students who qualify for the Indian National Math Olympiad (INMO) are admitted to the IIT Bombay's B.Sc. Math's program. This does not imply that you must pass JEE Advanced or Mains. In 2018, IIT Bombay began accepting applications through an Olympiad. The 2022 Math Olympiad (MO2022) will be held on February 13, 2022. The placement details of IIT, Bombay:

  • The highest package which was offered in the last year is between INR 27LPA-1.4Crore per annum.
  • The average package is between INR 10-15LPA to all the aspirants of different courses offered in the institute.
  • Some of the top recruiters are Microsoft, Toyo Engg. Corpn., Golman Sachs, Google, Intuit among many more.

The main documents needed at the time of admission is :-

  •  Marks card of 10th standard, 12th standard, Transfer certification of 12th standard, Caste and income certificate, Score card of JEE main and JEE advance.
  • Admission for B.Tech course is based on JEE main and JEE Advanced exam score.

The Life in IITB is great, the facilities provided by the institute to enjoy their campus life is :-

  • Extra curricular activities are conducted like cultural events, technical fests, sports activities etc.
  • Institute is around 500 acres of land where students can engage themselves and relax by going a walk or travel by bicycle.
  • Hi-tech academics, classrooms, well equipped labs  with well qualified and experienced faculties.
  • Hostels with hygiene mess,gym, reading room, and all the comfort facilities are provided
