Indira Gandhi National Open University established its Regional Center in Kolkata, West Bengal, in 1998 to provide access to quality higher education to all society segments. The Regional Centers are centers for training coordinators/counselors/other functionaries. They would provide a venue for the students and the academic counselors to express their responses concerning a particular subject.
IGNOU has entrenched its study center in Kolkata, Sealdah, Park Street, Kanchrapara, Siliguri, Purulia, Malda, Asansol, Darjeeling, Coochbehar, Midnapore, Garia, Suri, Arambagh, Islampur, Jiagunj, Binnaguri, Udang, Baruipur, Kharagpur, and Bishnupur. The Regional Centre is approximately 20kms away from the airport and 25kms from the main Howrah Railway Station, and 15kms from Sealdah Railway station. The public transport system connects the center well, helping many students and prospective learners visit the Regional Centre in person.
IGNOU offers UGC and AICTE approved Distance Learning courses like MBA at an affordable price and are acceptable anywhere in India. For admission in Management courses like MBA, DIM, PGDIM, PGDHRM, PGDFM, PGDOM, PGDMM, and PGDFMP, one has to qualify OPENMAT Management Aptitude Test conducted by IGNOU.
