Indira Gandhi National Open University established its Regional Center at Cochin, Kerala, in 1988 to provide open and distance education in the State of Kerala and the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. The duration of MBA courses is two years or 24 months. Students willing to take admission must be a graduate from a reputed university with an aggregate of 50%. The fee structure for a distance MBA course is 31,500 for the entire course.

The selection of the candidates is based on performance in personal interviews and marks obtained in graduation. The course duration is either two years or three years, depending on the course chosen by the candidate.
