Indira Gandhi National Open University established its Regional Center at Cochin, Kerala, in 1988 to provide open and distance education in the State of Kerala and the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. The university aims to widen access for all sections of society and provide professional development and training to all sectors of the economy; the university uses various media and the latest technology in imparting education.

IGNOU’s Regional Center Cochin, Kerala, has established its study center in the cities like Trivandrum, Kochi, Calicut, Pathanamthitta, Kannur, Kottayam, Trichur, Thoduphuzha, Tirurangadi, Ernakulam, Kollam, Suthan, Kalamassery, Cochin, Mavelikkara, Wyanad, Alleppey, Nalanchira, Cherthala, and Thrissur.  

IGNOU offers distance learning graduation and post-graduation level courses like BA, B.Com, BCA, B.Sc, BBA, BSW, MA, MBA, M.Com, M.Ed, MCA, and many more. It also offers diploma and post-graduation diploma courses Tourism Studies, Higher Education, Disaster Management, Journalism and Mass Communication and so on along with specific certificate courses in Consumer Protection, Food, and Nutrition, etc.

The duration of MBA courses is two years or 24 months. Students willing to take admission must be a graduate from a reputed university with an aggregate of 50%. The fee structure for a distance MBA course is 31,500 for the entire course.

  • There is an Online Application that is to be filled by the student to take admission to the university. And students must have appeared for competitive entrance exams for the eligibility criteria.

M.COM/MCA in Distance Learning:

The selection of the candidates is based on performance in personal interviews and marks obtained in graduation. The course duration is either two years or three years, depending on the course chosen by the candidate.

  • Institute provides two years program for M.COM with a maximum time of 4 years and three years program for MCA provided a total time of 6 years. The person must have cleared entrance exams to take admission to this university.

The approx. The fee for MCA is INR 21,600 for the entire course, which is INR 21,600 for each year. And the total cost for M.Com is INR 13,200 that INR 6,600 per year to be paid.

Bascially am a working professional but I was very much interested in pursuing MBA but due to the work I was not willing to study by attending for the regular classes so I thought of pursuing MBA through distance mode so then I decided to join for IGNOU, Agartala because I felt it is the best choice for me to pursue distance course and also it is familiar for its quality education and even teaching mentors are very helpful and supportive and they are always available to solve our doubts through online sessions. IGNOU Agartala admissions for distance MBA course will be provided actually on the basis of OPENMAT score and the fee structure costs around 31,000
