IGNOU Ahmedabad Regional Centre was established in 1988 to reach the unreached. To achieve this objective, the centre established Study Centres within its jurisdiction in various underprivileged areas of Gujarat. The inauguration of the Ahmedabad Regional Centre took place in 1988. In 2012, the Ahmedabad Regional Centre became the first Regional-Centre to celebrate its Silver Jubilee. Additionally, the centre organized two parallel International Conferences in collaboration with BAOU, the State Open University, Ahmedabad, in 2017, a unique and remarkable achievement.
RC IGNOU Ahmedabad offers student support services, including academic counselling, guidance, and assistance to learners. The centre distributes study materials to enrolled students, facilitating their self-paced learning process. The Regional Centre serves as an examination centre for students enrolled in various IGNOU programmes, allowing them to take term-end examinations at the centre's designated venue.
