The Indo-French Educational Trust established the IFET College of Engineering Villupuram in 1998. It is a private institution associated with Chennai's Anna University. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has approved. The IFET College of Engineering campus spans 30 acres of land. The institute has received a "B" rating from NAAC and has NBA accreditation for engineering and management programs. There are 1681 students enrolled in the institute and 182 faculty members overall.
The IFET College of Engineering courses is offered in undergraduate and graduate programs. The course offerings cover engineering, IT and computer application, management, and business administration disciplines. At the UG level, it offers BE/B Tech in eight disciplines. In contrast, PG Courses such as M Tech is available in two disciplines. MBA is offered in HRM, Marketing, and Finance. IFET College of Engineering Fees for B Tech is around INR 55k per year. IFET Admissions to the B.E./B. Tech is granted based on a student's performance on the board exam 12. Based on the 12th mark, applicants must register for TNEA Counselling. Based on TNEA Rank, seat allotment will take place. The results of TANCET are used to determine admission to the MBA and ME/M Tech programs. On the other side, ME students with valid GATE scores are exempt from taking the TANCET. Additionally, the shortlisted candidates must participate in the relevant TANCA counseling sessions. IFET College of Engineering scholarships is available to deserving students based on their academic excellence. Students must meet the requirements to qualify for the IFET scholarship.
The institute offers a range of academic and student support services. At IFET College Villupuram campus, boys' and girls' hostels are segregated. The hostels are equipped with contemporary furnishings, a steady supply of water and power, free wi-fi, and active security systems around-the-clock. IFET College of Engineering Hostel fees is INR 50k.
At IFET Central Library, students can access CD-ROMs, online databases, audio-video CDs, national and international periodicals, magazines, and other materials.
