Guru Nanak Dev University Hostel

Hostels at GNDU Amritsar College are vibrant with a friendly environment. The approachable spaces and friendly advanced facilities thus promote the formation of a comfortable university life for the students and their various valuable experiences. Admission to any of the hostels is done and supervised by the Dean of Students' Welfare in accordance with the university's regulations. New admissions are then given based on the distance that the students live from the campus and whether or not they have been residents at the hostel. For application, students are required to undertake an online form which is then reviewed by their departmental heads. That makes it possible for anyone who wishes to benefit from the active hostel forms of student accommodation to get a chance and have the most of their university time.

Guru Nanak Dev University Hostel Facilities

  • GNDU Amritsar Hostel Rooms for single occupancy, double occupancy or multiple occupancy. The rooms contained beds, chairs, desks and closets.
  • A canteen/ cafeteria/ dining room, for normal meal timings, should have a sufficient choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food and meal options.
  • There are recreational centres where people can sit and chat.
  • Television and entertainment rooms.
  •  Study rooms with desks and comfortable Seats
  • Internet access in every corner of the hostel and special working tables with computers connected to the Internet
  • Daily cleaning of hallways and corridors, as well as of all rooms and constant presence of maintenance personnel for emergency repairs.
  • Laundry services for washing clothes
  • Security guards round the clock and closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras for security purposes.
  • Heaters are fixed at the central place of each block of the hostel and coolers are also fixed there.

Guru Nanak Dev University Hostel Eligibility

Accommodation in hostels will be provided under the following conditions:

  • GNDU Hostel Admission is subject to university policies and at the discretion of the Dean of Students' Welfare.
  • Students must not have violated hostel rules or university regulations.
  • Students living beyond the specified distances (40 km for boys and 25 km for girls) are given priority.
  • Full-time research scholars are eligible for accommodation.
  • Part-time students are generally not eligible for hostel accommodation.
  • Students who have resided in hostels during the previous academic year are given preference.
  • A valid online application is required, which must be verified by the department head.
  • Providing false information in the application may result in disqualification from admission.
  • Special cases may allow for exceptions to distance requirements.

Guru Nanak Dev University Admissions Process:

The hostel admissions process at GNDU Amritsar generally involves the following steps:

  • Obtain the hostel admission form from the university's website or designated office.
  • Fill out the form accurately, providing necessary personal and academic details.
  • Submit the completed form along with any required documents, such as proof of distance from the university.
  • Pay the applicable hostel fees as specified in the admission notification.
  • Await the hostel allocation list, which the university will publish.
  • Report to the assigned hostel on the specified date to complete the check-in process.
  • Complete any additional formalities required by the hostel authorities, such as submitting a medical certificate or undertaking.
