Government Engineering College Chamarajanagar was established in 2007 by the Government of Karnataka. GECC is the most reachable college to the rustic students in the backward region of Karnataka and the boundary of Tamilnadu & Kerala. The institute offers four Undergraduate courses in the engineering field with many specializations such as Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil engineering, and Electronics & Communication Engineering.

The college is also tortuous in communal involvement events by helping local organizations in technological matters linked to the preparation and implementation of their systems.
