Goa University started in 1985. They offer lots of different courses where you can get degrees like bachelor's, master's, and even doctorates. Goa University Course Admission
Getting into Goa University depends on how well you did in academics or on an entrance test. The Goa University admission process usually starts around February or March. The University offers bachelor's degrees through its affiliated colleges and master's degrees through its departments. Right now, about 27,000 students are studying for bachelor's degrees, and around 1,500 are doing master's degrees at the main campus. You can find more details on the Goa University Admission Portal.
- To get into bachelor's programs like BA, BBA, B.Sc., BCA, and BSW, you need to have done well in your previous exams. You should have passed high school from a recognized board.
- You must also pass the Goa University Admissions Ranking Test (GU-ART) to be considered for master's and B.Ed programs.
- For programs like Engineering, B. Pharm, M.E., B.Arch, MBBS, and MBA, you might need to take national or state-level entrance exams like GCET, GATE, NATA, NEET, or CMAT/CAT. Then, there is usually a Goa University Counselling.
- To get into the MBA program, you need to get a good score on tests like CMAT or XAT. In addition, you might need to pass an interview. There is a provision for an entrance test for an MBA at Goa University. If you don't have valid scores in any of the national-level exams, then you can appear for CMAT or XAT.
Goa University Online Admission
Applying is easy because everything happens online. If you want to take the entrance exam, you have to register first. Here's how you can apply:
- Go to the official website of Goa University.
- Look for the admissions page and choose the course you want to apply for.
- Fill in all your personal and academic details carefully.
- Once you finish the application, print out a PDF copy of the form.
- Send the printed form, along with your official signature, a Demand Draft, and copies of necessary documents through Speed Post.
- Write your name, Reference Number, and the name of the program you're applying for on the back of the Demand Draft.

Goa University has a special department called the Directorate of Student Placement and Alumni Relations (DSPAR) to help students with their careers. Goa University Scholarships
Goa University offers different types of support for students who deserve it:
- Merit Scholarships: If you do well in your exams, you can get a scholarship. For science subjects, you need at least 65% marks, and for arts, commerce, and management studies, you need more than 60%.
- Free Studentship: If your parents' income is less than INR 3 lakh per year and you score at least 50% in science subjects or 45% in arts, commerce, and management studies, you can study for free.
- Research Scholarship: If you're doing full-time research after getting at least 55% in your bachelor's degree and you're officially enrolled in a PhD program, you can get a scholarship.
There are also other scholarships from the government and institutions like:

- Fee Waiver Scheme for SC, ST Students
- Post Matric Scholarship to Schedule Tribe (ST)

Goa University Hostel
At the University, both boys and girls can stay in hostels. Postgraduate and research students at the University get first priority for hostel rooms. If there are empty rooms, students from other colleges can also ask for a place. Students who stay must pay the Goa University Hostel fees of INR 10,000 for lodging. They also need to pay in advance for meals like breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the whole semester.
