Institute was founded in 2008 which is affiliated with Biju Patnaik University of technology and approved by AICTE. GIST offers B.Tech programs of 4-year and diploma courses of 3-year in various Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT). The institute has well-educated and dedicated academics and staff members to promote students.
- The institute has established a high-tech laboratories campus that offers a first-class faculty with an ideal technical learning environment.
- The Central Library is the heart of the Gandhi Institute of Science and Technology. It consists of 15,000+ books, 100 projects and 15 volumes of magazines, and 200 digital books (CDs and DVDs). The Digital English Language Lab regularly organizes on-campus training courses to improve students' communication skills.
- Campus Recruitment focuses on providing specialized training in collaboration with professional development institutes and personal development, etiquette, personal care, and more. To fill the gap between the university's curriculum and the needs of the industry, the institute offers a variety of training programs, including CAD / CAM, integrated systems, J2JEE & VLSI.
Educational loans and Scholarship facilities are provided for meritorious students. A privately-owned home that supports the university campus is being asked to provide the necessary accommodation for the boys. GIST offers avant-garde accommodation for girls on campus. The hostel for girls has a full-time guard, leisure facilities, reading room, emergency power, and Internet access.
