Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth was established in Akola in 1969 as an agricultural university to offer education in agriculture. This college has its main campus in Akola and divided the degree courses into five agricultural colleges. Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh College offers 4-degree courses in agriculture, namely B.Sc. in Agriculture, B.Sc. in horticulture, B.Sc. in Forestry, and B.tech in agricultural engineering.
