The Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry is in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. It started in 1985 and focuses on forestry sciences. Candidates interested in applying for courses at the university can easily do so through the university's website. For convenience, the Y.S. Parmar University application fee can be paid online. All applicants are required to appear for the entrance test specific to their chosen course, organized by the university.

  • For B.Sc. programs, candidates must have completed 10+2 with English, Physics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and Biology/Mathematics/Agriculture as optional subjects.

YSP University B.Tech admission

They have different criteria for admission based on the type of seat. Normal Seats consider the marks obtained in the entrance test (UGET). You must have more than 45 marks to be eligible for the counseling process. In case of tie scores, the percentage at the 10+2 level or the candidate's age is considered for admission. Self-financing Seats are chosen based on the marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics at the 10+2 level. Seats for Sports and Co-curricular activities give additional weightage to sports and activities, including national and state-level participation.

For an MBA in Agribusiness, you need a GPA of 6 and above or 60% marks in your UG degree. If you have done your UG from the ICAR-AU system or ICAR accredited Universities/Colleges, you are given preference. If seats remain, those with 4-year UG degrees from Private Agricultural colleges, even if not accredited by ICAR but affiliated with Government colleges, will be considered. As for the UG degree, you should have a B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry/ Horticulture/ Biotechnology/B.Tech. Biotechnology/B.Sc. Agriculture (4-year program).

They have a Training and Placement Cell. Its job is to help students improve their skills and find good jobs. They do this by organizing visits to different workplaces like factories and farms, and they also arrange classes and workshops to teach students about job opportunities and how to do well in interviews. They use notice boards and WhatsApp groups to share job information with students. The Cell also helps students get ready for exams and invites speakers to motivate them. The university has hostels for boys and girls, set in beautiful natural surroundings. The boys' hostels are named Vishnu, Keshav, Madhav, Neelkanth, Natraj, Shambhu, and International (Boys), each with different numbers of rooms. Similarly, the girls' hostels are called New Girls, Sharda, Vasundhra, Nandini, Mangla, Gauri, Vaishnavi, Kadambri and Kalyani. Y.S. Parmar University Hostel rooms are given based on how well a student has done in their studies and if there are enough rooms available. Students who need special help, like those with disabilities, are given rooms first.

The cost of staying in a hostel includes fees like a security deposit for the mess (INR 5000) and for the hostel itself (INR 300). Also, it charges per semester for things like maintaining the hostel (INR 1000), using common areas (INR 200), utensils and dishes (INR 200), keeping the place clean (INR 180), using the room (INR 500, but students from certain backgrounds don't have to pay this), electricity (INR 1200), and water (INR 100).

Students must have passed 10+2 board exams in the science stream. Selections are based on the entrance test followed by GD and PI rounds. The admission process is based on online applications sent to the University using the official website and payment of form fees.

The institute offers B.Sc. at the UG level to eligible candidates. To apply for the B.Sc. course, students must have passed 10+2 with 50% marks. Admission for B.Sc. at Dr. YSPUHF depends on written test scores followed by counseling. The institute conducts the test.

Applicants who are seeking to apply for B.Sc. Horticulture admission at Dr. Y.S. Parmar University, you shall have passed 12th/intermediate with a minimum 50% aggregate score in the science stream (Biology as compulsory subject). Based on the score obtained in the entrance test UGET & personal interview performance, candidates will be selected for admission.

The basic eligibility criteria for admission to B.Sc. in Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry program is 10+2 in science or Agriculture stream with a minimum of 50% marks. Selection of the candidates will be done based on entrance test/personal interview round.
