Dr M G R Educational and Research Institute is a Deemed University with three constituent colleges: Thai Moogambigai Polytechnic College, which was started in 1985, Dr M.G.R. Engineering College in 1988, and Thai Moogambigai Dental College in 1991. The colleges received Deemed University status by UGC in 2003 as Dr M G R Educational & Research Institute.
MGRERI courses offered are B. Tech, B.Arch, BDS, B.Sc., B.P.T., B.Com, BBA, BCA, B.Ed., MBBS, M.Tech, M.Arch, MBA, MCA, MDS, MPT, M.Sc., MS by Research, M.Phil, and Ph.D. with several specializations. CoA, I.N.C., NCTE, MCI, DCI, AICTE, and other bodies approve the University's courses, along with accreditation from NAAC with a 'B+' grade.
