Deshbandhu College, located in Delhi, was established in 1952. The Institution was bought into existence to educate the young of the nation and provide an atmosphere conducive to the students' overall development and contribute to establishing a better society. Deshbandhu College was approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is affiliated with the University of Delhi. The college also received NAAC accreditation of B+ Grade.

This college is one of the oldest South Delhi colleges, brought into existence in 1952 under the Ministry of Rehabilitation sponsorship. The college has got its name from one famous freedom fighter Deshbandhu Gupta. The college has adapted more than 8 post-graduation degree programs and 20+ under graduation degree programs to nourish students with quality academic education in various fields.
Today, this college has attained 28th place in India's top fifty science educational institutes and ranked 8th in India's full Delhi college survey.
Departments of this college also organize various inter-college and intra-college annual festivals to encourage candidates' overall development.
