IIT Delhi is one of the finest engineering institutes in the nation, and its JEE Advanced cutoff is very strict. It changes every year depending on the category—Gen, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD, and course-wise. Also, the cutoff ranks differ substantially in category. Counselling candidates must attain the cutoff ranks set by the council in their respective categories.
A few of the factors which may require adjustment include the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates who turned up, the number of seats available and often the trend that has been set in the previous year. Finally, it is stated that a harder examination can result in a choice of a lower cutoff, while a larger number of applicants can increase the cutoff. It also means that when there are fewer seats offered for students, the cutoff increases.

When the exam difficulty level is high, the cutoffs are low because few students are able to achieve the given cutoffs. IIT Delhi Cut off 2024 Round 1
There has been a gradual rise in the number of applicants for JEE Advanced year after year, which has given rise to higher cutoff marks. Nevertheless, the cutoffs vary year by year depending upon factors like the difficulty level of the examinations, the number of students who appeared for the examination, the number of seats available, etc.
Even cutoffs can differ from one category to another (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, and PWD). In recent years, parents feel that these cutoffs are on the rise, particularly for courses that attract huge enrollments, such as computer science and engineering cutoff. The criteria for qualifying through the JEE Advanced cutoff in IIT Delhi in the General category may also remain in flux due to various reasons. Specifically, there has been an overall trend of improving cutoffs for most branches – a phenomenon most particularly noticeable in the popularity-enjoying Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
