IIM Lucknow uses CAT scores as the admissions criteria. The institute releases two types of cutoffs: Qualifying CAT cutoff and Final CAT cutoff. The IIM Lucknow Qualifying CAT cutoff 2024 is the minimum score to continue with the remaining admission procedure comprising WAT and PI. However, the Final cutoff is generally higher compared to the qualifying cutoff, which is used in the final selection of students for admission to 2025.
The qualifying IIM Lucknow CAT cutoff 2024 for General category candidates has been fixed at 90 percentiles. This cutoff applies to all management courses. It offers an MBA equivalent to PGP Courses: PGP (General), PGP (Agribusiness Management), and PGP (sustainable management-SM). Cutoffs are divided category-wise for all these courses. Also, candidates need to qualify for the sectional cutoffs to be eligible for the WAT and PI process.
IIM releases the cutoff based on the CAT result. It releases both the sectional and overall cutoff percentile. However, the IIM Lucknow cutoff percentile varies for each course and category.

Cutoff is prepared under section-wise and overall percentiles so that candidates are well-balanced in all strands of the CAT exam. A candidate is considered for further rounds only if they have cleared the cutoff for both section-wise and overall. The cutoff will vary depending on factors like the number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam and past trends. Higher scores in one section do not compensate for low scores in another section. Thus, you need to satisfy the cutoff criteria in each section. Only then will you be eligible for further selection rounds, that is, WAT, GD and PI.

IIM Lucknow cutoff for the general category is 85 percentiles in each section: QA, VARC, DI & LR and 90 overall. For other categories like OBC, EWS, SC, ST, and PwD categories, the cutoff will be lower. However, an overall percentile cutoff also helps a candidate get into the PGP program.

The selection process for the PGP 2025-27 batch at IIM Lucknow has been divided into 3 major steps.
Step 1: Shortlisting for WAT-PI: Candidates will be shortlisted for the WAT and PI based on their CAT 2024 scores and a composite score. Candidates must meet the CAT cutoff percentile as mentioned category-wise. Candidates shortlisted for WAT-PI must submit the application form within the specified deadline.
Step 2: Composite Score Calculation: Candidates who qualify under the required CAT percentile are finalized based on the weightage of the CAT score, academic record, work experience, and diversity factors.

Step 3: Final Selection: After the WAT and PI rounds, IIM Lucknow makes a final selection list based on the CAT score, academic performance, experience, WAT, PI, and diversity factors like gender and academic discipline. In the case of the MBA-ABM program, the CAT score holds a 35% weight, and experience is not taken into consideration.
