In the case of IIM Ahmedabad, admission is granted to those candidates only who clear the cutoff criteria. Valid CAT scores are used to shortlist the students for the WAT and PI processes.
IIM Ahmedabad CAT cutoff 2024 is 80% for the general category (overall). In contrast, the sectional percentile is 70%. However, if the candidates are interested in getting into the 2025 batch, they will most probably have to score more than 99.5%
IIM Ahmedabad comprises two types of cutoffs: the minimum qualifying Cutoff and the final Cutoff. To be noted, the cutoff varies according to categories like General, SC, ST, OBC, and EWS.
The factors that affect the cutoff criteria are the number of applicants, the level of difficulty of the CAT exam, and the cutoff trends of past years. Also, apart from meeting the cutoff, 'academic performance, work experience, and diversity in the final selection' are considered by IIM Ahmedabad.
IIM Ahmedabad CAT qualifying cutoff varies by category. CAT cutoff for IIM for General and EWS is set at 80 percentiles. For the OBC, it is set at 75 percentiles. For the SC and ST, percentiles are lower, set at 70 and 60 per cent, respectively. Percentiles for the PwD candidates will vary from 50 to 60 per cent as per the category.

There are three sections in the CAT exam: Quantitative Ability (QA), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC). The candidate needs to secure minimum percentiles in all three sections to be eligible for further rounds of the IIM Ahmedabad admission 2025 process and score at least the minimum percentile overall.

Expected Final CAT Cutoff 2024 for IIM Ahmedabad Admission
The final cutoff for IIM Ahmedabad is likely to be much higher than the IIM Ahmedabad CAT qualifying cutoff due to the intense competition for getting admitted into IIMs. The minimum qualifying cutoff for the General category is at the 80 percentile, while the actual final cutoff may vary between the 99 to 100 percentile. Since IIM Ahmedabad is No 1 management college in India, getting admission is quite competitive. Thus, you need to score above the 99 percentile.
