Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, is an institution with top-class academic programs and an excellent reputation in engineering, management, and other areas of study. To be eligible for admission, candidates are mandated to satisfy the BIT Mesra Cutoff. For admission to the B Tech, students must have a valid rank in JEE Main. In addition, students must undergo either the JOSAA or CSAB Counselling for the seat allotment process. For post-graduate programs like MBA, it accepts MAT , and CMAT scores.

The JEE Main cutoff trend of BIT Mesra's CSE branch is showing a high demand. The opening and closing ranks for CSE (All India Quota) witnessed a rise from 11,521 in 2021 to 16,401 in 2023, which indicates that more students are being attracted to this popular course. Similarly, the BIT Mesra CSE Cutoff for Home State quota has witnessed an upward trend in ranks from 17,012 in 2021 to 25,662 in 2023.
