TPGIT is the short form for Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, which was begun in 1990 with assistance from DOTE (Directorate of Technical Education). This is a public institute funded by the Tamil Nadu Government, and this technological institute had gotten its affiliation from Anna University. Being a public institute, it has also received an acceptance from AICTE, where the TPGIT offers undergrad and postgrad engineering programs along with MCA courses with specialization subjects to do the majors. 

The campus facilities provided by the institute are very good and technologically advanced. They also provide extra-curricular activities, sports clubs, hostel accommodations, educational fests, etc.  

  • B-Tech is the most demanded course of TPGIT, which provides options for its students to choose their major within the five subjects mentioned- Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Electronics & communication, and Civil Engg.
  • The students aspiring to become engineers willing to join TPGIT must have a 50 percent aggregate in their +2 exams in all the mandatory subjects. In addition, they have to be ready to write the TNEA entrance exam, which all Tamil Nadu colleges commonly accept.
  • The fee structure for B-Tech (4 years) in TPGIT, an on-campus full-time course, is very affordable and costs 41,000 INR 41 for the complete course duration.
  • The M-Tech course of TPGIT is also very affordable and costs only 10,970 INR for one year, and for both years, it is only 22,000 INR.       
  • The hostel requisites provided by TPGIT are decent enough, with good food, clean rooms, and entertainment facilities, and the fee amount is INR 20,000 per year. 

TPGIT Scholarships

  • The government of TN will provide scholarships only for qualified students, and it will be mostly based on the community category. 

Apart from that, it will be for physically disabled students and for the students whose parent's income is less than 1 Lakh.

I have chosen BE in Mechanical Engineering and the selected course curriculum is actually good and convenient for studying it. Thanthai Periyar Government Institute Of Technology fee structure for BE Course costs approximate 10,000 for 1st year and from 2nd year onwards I paid around 6k hence the entire fee costs 29k overall fee is actually economically low

The essential B.E. admission requirement is to have completed their state board exam in 10+2 in the science stream with 50% in all the core subjects. The applicants must also have TNEA counselling results to make the admission decision.  

What is the fee for B.Tech?

The fee structure for B.Tech at TPGIT is INR 29k. Mentioned is the total fee. The first–year fee is INR 10k. The remaining three-year fee is INR 6k. The provided fee is the general fee.

Thanthai Periyar Government Institute Of Technology offers the following scholarships:

  • Tamil Nadu government SC/ST scholarship: for students with coming from low income family of less than 2.5 Lakhs. 
  • National scholarship for minorites: for students coming from low income background of less than 2 Lakhs (christian and muslim minorities).
  • Central sector scheme for college and university students: for students who have secured 80% in H.S.C and not availed any scholarship.
