Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research was established in 1997. It is affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, and approved by India's Medical Council. The new sprawling campus's total area is about 33 acres of land. An ultra-modern 992-bed new hospital has been constructed with the latest facilities required for a modern hospital in various super specialties and specialties.

The institute has separate hostels for boys and girls. The clinical teaching is arranged for medical students in Sri Guru Ram Das Charitable Hospital, Vallah, having all the latest equipment and facilities.

I wish to say SGRDIMSR is one of the best medical college and it is ranked as 10th among best emerging medical college in India. Am doing my final year MBBS course at this college actually I got here admission on the basis of NEET score. Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research fee structure for MBBS course is quiet feasible when we get admission through Government quota and the management quota seat is expensive. It charges approximate 3 Lakhs for the govt seat and for the management seat it costs around 7 Lakhs and the hostel fee charges around 40,000

For the first year MBBS course fee at Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research is around INR 759000/- and for the other 4 years course the fee had to be paid was around INR 660000/-
