In memory of the Great Maharaja of Travancore, Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering was founded in 1995 by the Govt. of Kerala. It is a state-government-sponsored engineering college. The college's courses are approved by AICTE and affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) of Kerala. SCTCE is accredited or has a tie-up with NBA, and it is ISO 9001:2000 certified. In the engineering stream, undergraduate as B.Tech and postgraduate as M.Tech programs are also offered B. Tech lateral entry direct 2^nd year admissions are provided. SCTCE has a broad objective of preparing young women and men into technocrats through training, engineering education, and research. Besides all this, SCTCE faculties are exceedingly well qualified and have rich experience in relevant academics. Under World Bank-funded Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP), this institute is one of the seven colleges in Kerala.

• Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering management quota fee structure of B.Tech for four years will cost around INR 3.08 lakhs. The NRI quota fee will also be much higher than the general fee and management quota fees.
• A separate application fee will be put up, not included in the course fee structure, so the Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering application for general candidates will be INR 800. In contrast, for SC candidates, it is INR 400, and no fee for ST candidates. The application fee payment can be made online mode during the application procedure.
• The intake of B.Tech students for this college will be 420, while the M.Tech course has 54 seats. These seats will be segregated and offered admissions through different quotas. Each specialization's seats under each course shall differ according to various criteria.
• Various disciplines will be offered based on merit in the previous academic year and considering the KEAM cut-off B.Tech admission. Similarly, through the GATE score, counseling will be held, and M.Tech admissions will be granted.
• Any changes in the eligibility criteria of the course or course fees will be subject to change as per the Government/ University norms.
• For B. Tech, there shall be general, management quota, and NRI admissions, while for M.Tech, seats can be taken through Merit, SCT/KSRTC.
• The course's entire fee structure can be settled academically yearly or semester-wise added to this, and there will be govt./central govt. scholarships and fee waivers for only deserving candidates.
• The GATE process is done online, and the application form fill-up payment fee is separate, whereas male candidates' fees will be INR 1500 while it is INR 750.
• More than 25 companies visit through campus drives and hire students from national and multinational companies. The placement conducts training on developing soft skills, new technology bias, and personality development. As soon as students join the course, the movement starts from the first academic year.

Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering Hostel

The committee of Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering hostel functions to facilitate accommodation for every student across the country. Security staff and the warden will be appointed for the college's protection and safety of girl students. The management has assigned the hostel committee to visit the approved hostels periodically and solve the problems or issues related to food, discipline, and accommodation. The fee structure of the hostel and bus transportation will be separate, and candidates shall use these facilities by making the respective fee payment.
