Michael Madhusudan Memorial College was incepted in the academic year 1996. This college got affiliated from the Kazi Narul University by starting of the traditional courses in the fields of Arts and Commerce. The NAAC team visited the college in 2008 and have gives grade “B”. The college have taken all the significant measures to built a holistic academic ambience and keep up the standards in the higher studies. Currently, the college runs almost 20 departments having over 12 courses in fields like (Honours) in Bengali, geography, Hindi, Physics, Computer Science, Microbiology and Accountancy etc. There are 2 professional programs and 7 general programs.
- The Michael Madhusudan Memorial College courses are B.Sc., B.A, BBA and BCA in Honors and general courses like B.Com. As PG Courses there is only one program namely M.A in English.
- Michael Madhusudan Memorial College fee structure for BBA (Hons) will be close to Rs. 18,300 as the annual fee. This fulltime Honours BBA course will have annual intake of 70 seats as per the state guidelines.
- The other professional course BCA (Honours) will have yearly intake of 70 seats in the institute. Michael Madhusudan Memorial College fee structure of the BCA (Hons) will be approximately Rs. 20,800 per annum and total fee has 62,400.
- The fee structure in the Michael Madhusudan Memorial College for the B.Com (Hons) in Accountancy and B.Com Accountancy will be Rs. 3,730 and Rs. 2,910 respectively. The intake for B.Com accountancy will be 150 seats annually whereas intake of B.Com (Hons) will be 75 seats.

- Fee structure in MMMC, Durgapur for the B.Sc. will be Rs. 5,330 and for B.Sc.(hons) will be Rs. 5,870 annually. Institute will take around 100 seats for B.Sc. yearly and 40 seats for B.Sc.(Hons).
In the MMMC, Durgapur campus there is single hostel block which can accommodate around 20 students. The hostel boarders will strictly be allotted based on the performance in academics for far away students.
