The college's foundation was laid in 1986 under the guidelines of Shri Narayan Dutt Tiwari, Govt. of India. UP govt. It has allotted 155 acres of land to build this institute, offering computer applications and engineering education. It is an autonomous public institute where the academics are well planned, which is similar to NITs/RECs and IITs of the country for the development of engineering and technology education facilitated. The administrative council has approved the few other relevant specializations offered. Currently, BTKIT runs seven graduate engineering programs and three postgraduate programs. Also, the institute has started Ph.D. programs in recent years. An atmosphere is produced for the learning and personality development of the students has been created. Prominence is being laid on mutual respect & self-discipline.
