Founded in 1993, the Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET) is a maritime educational academy located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. With its ability to feed the global shipping industry with an unrivaled maritime human capital, AMET's uncompromising success in excellence in maritime education and training secured its status as the first University in India considered to be for maritime education training, research, and development activities. AMET acts as an ocean of expertise for more than 3,000 students pursuing programs ranging from diploma to doctoral studies through 4 schools and two intensive study and training centers for aquatic and marine activities. AMET's education caters to the comprehensive growth of all its students to make them more articulate, better educated, and demanding. - AMET University's application fee is INR 1000 to be paid during the application process. The complete course fee covers tuition fees and other fees. This is the general fee, while the various quota fees will differ. Also, the cost can be paid academic year-wise. The application form can be filled in either online or offline mode.
AMET University Scholarships
For eligible students, AMET University scholarships are offered. The seven categories in which scholarships are offered are given below:
- Meritorious Student Scholarship: Those who scored more than 90 percent with a fee concession of 15 percent in their 10+2.
- Shree Janakiraman Scholarship: There are fee concessions for students belonging to the economically backward section.
- First Graduate Fees Concession: Fee concession of 15 percent to first graduate at admission.
- Single Girl Child - Fee Concession: 15 percent fee concession to a single child girl nominee.
- Single Parent Scholarship: 15 percent fee concession for economically disadvantaged students with a single parent.
- Ex-Servicemen Scholarship: For a 15% fee concession, Ex-Wards servicemen are eligible.
- Maritime Training Trust Scholarship for Female Cadets: For this scholarship, female cadets from the Department of Marine Engineering and Nautical Science can apply.
