City Engineering College is affiliated with VTU and has been approved by AICET at the under graduation level. There is a B.Tech course offered under the post-graduation level, and there is an M.Tech program offered with fewer major specializations. To apply for any of these courses, candidates are asked to download the application form from the CEC's official portal, fill it out, and submit it to the college admissions office. The number of seats for each course also differs based on the eligibility criteria seats will be allotted.
BE is offered in CEC at the undergraduate level duration of the course. It is four 4 years, split into 8 semesters in the first year; every candidate will study the same syllabus regardless of their stream. Their actual specialization syllabus starts from the 2nd year of the course. CEC BE seats for the intake of students are 180.
KCET, COMEDK, and other relevant national or state level entrance exams are accepted; however, candidates should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in PCM of the 12th board to apply for any specialization. Only for reserved category students of Karnataka, there is a 5% relaxation in their eligibility. CEC cut-off for each discipline differs, and candidates are selected based on the cut-off.

CEC M.Tech admissions will be made based on PGCET conducted by the Government of Karnataka or related entrance exam-based candidates to apply for the course need to hold a bachelor’s degree in B.Tech than 50% marks. M.Tech is offered for 2 years duration, and there is only one specialization offered: computer science and engineering. The candidate to apply for the same need has completed BE in the same stream. In SC/ST students, there is a 5% relaxation in their bachelor’s aggregate, which is not less than 45%.

City Engineering College placement cell actively participates in training the students, inviting the companies for placement drives, and getting students placed in top companies. The training for students includes aptitude training, soft skill training, interpersonal development, and technical training. To ensure students' placements CEC placement department maintains excellent relationships with industries and leading organizations. To meet the industry standards and other criteria, placement faculties strive hard to train students. They conduct bridge courses and certificate courses.
The CEC placement hub aims to develop national and international business organizations' links to make it more meaningful placement drives by getting several opportunities for students globally in the job market. In the 3rd year of the B.Tech course, there is a lecture session taken to make students aware of the process of campus interviews. Further training sessions based on aptitude tests, technical tests, HR rounds, mock practice for group discussion, and personal interview tips have been trained. For all the courses offered in CEC, there are qualifying programs held separately. It has again been segregated into each discipline, and based on that, and companies are invited for the campus drives.

City Engineering College Scholarships:
Money should not be a constraint for students to drop their education or without continuing with their education. There is a financial aid scheme to make every student learn and see good future CEC scholarships. The scholarship offered will be merit cum. Also, these scholarships apply only to Indian applicants. Apart from these, candidates can apply for several other government-based scholarships on seeing through eligibility, and those scholarships will be granted.
