Tezpur University Centre of Open & Distance Learning was established in 2011 to provide high-quality education through distance learning. As per the UGC Regulations, it was renamed in 2020 as Tezpur University Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE). Thus, online programs are introduced.
The Tezpur University Distance Education Centre offers a flexible and learner-friendly teaching system. The institute offers a variety of job-oriented programs and vocational courses, as well as several degree and certificate programs that can be accomplished online.
The Center strives to provide high-quality instruction for those who don't have access to traditional higher education and view education as a lifelong pursuit. Tezpur University offers various postgraduate diploma & certificate programs in emerging fields of social sciences, management, and humanities with a flexible system to cater to the needs of learners who cannot attend regular courses.

Admission to the Distance Courses at Tezpur University is based on academic merit in the last qualifying exam.
The admission process usually starts in November for the Spring session and in May for the Autumn semester. The mode of admission is entirely online.
The University offers MA and Post Graduate Diploma degrees with various specializations to meet the needs of the business world. Tezpur University Distance Learning MA Course
Tezpur University Distance Learning (TU CODL) offers distance-learning MA Programs in Sociology, English, and Mass Communication at the Postgraduate Level.
The MA program lasts for two years. Students seeking the MA must hold a bachelor's Degree in any discipline. Candidates will be selected based on merit. Students with a BA as an undergraduate Degree in a relevant discipline will be preferred over others.
Tezpur University Distance Learning PG Diploma
The Centre of Distance Learning at Tezpur University offers postgraduate diplomas in four fields.
The diploma program lasts one year, and admission to the PG diploma is determined by the performance of an undergraduate degree.
How to get Admission to Tezpur University Distance Learning Courses
Distance education students can fill out an application for admission to Tezpur University by the schedule on the University's official website. At the time of admission, only the candidate who has been chosen will be required to submit certified copies of all of the marks and documents.
The application form is available online to students. Students must visit the University's website to access the application form. In some programs, applicants may submit three applications on the same form.
Candidates must follow the steps below to fill out the application correctly.
- Visit the authority site of Tezpur University (www.tezu.ernet.in) and then select the CODL online affirmation gateway.
- Fill out your name, birth date, email address, and mobile number to register.
- To finish the first part of the application, enter a password, upload a picture and signature, and click the "register" button.
- Sign in to the account with the login & password to access the application form.
- Top off the internet-based application structure, transfer photos, check duplicates of declarations, mark sheets, and personality reports, and submit.
- Candidates must use PayTM to pay the INR 500/- (INR 250/- for SC/ST) fees.

- Students are given Regular Tezpur University Distance Education assignments to check their comprehension of the material. The students' study materials serve as the basis for the assignments.
- Each academic year, TU CDOE conducts term-end examinations. Offline mode is used to conduct the tests.
