The Central University Of Odisha (Orissa) was established in 2009 by the parliament under the Central Universities Act 2009. It is among the new central universities set by the government of India to provide access to education in less developed districts having a low graduate enrollment ratio. The institute is located in the Koraput district, a predominantly tribal area catering to providing a national-level educational setup to the students of these areas. The CUO's vision is to create a skilled workforce that can fulfill rural & urban needs in the form of academic alliances between different institutes. Inclusive education is the university's motto, keeping the holistic view at the epicenter.
All the Central University of Odisha Courses provided are in sync with the curriculum standards of other educational institutions. In addition, it offers UG, PG, and integrated courses under 8 component institutes. There are currently two undergraduate programs, namely, B.ED and BCA. In post-graduation, there are four courses like M.Sc, MBA, MA, and M.SC integrated. In addition, Central University Koraput PG Courses provide insight into great curriculum & subject knowledge.
The campus is situated in the village of Chikapar and Chakarliput, which comes under the Sunabeda NAC. It is situated in the HAL Sunabeda. The Dumuriput railway station is 5 km away from the Sunabeda junction. Damanjodi railway station is 15 km from the campus. The campus area is around 450 acres. The facilities provided to students are a central library, hostels, computer center, and guest house.
The Central university in Orissa central library was established in the year 2009. It provides more than 38000 books in addition to magazines, journals, e-books, reports, and other databases. The library achieved progress in developing e-content, which helps in the digital collection by subscribing to more than 8000 books at a time. The computer center is a major asset of the university as it helps students to make arrangements for broadband services. The communication & knowledge addition to the campus infrastructure is primarily because of the center itself.
The CUO has a good range of faculties in all the departments providing the requisite expertise and knowledge in all areas. In addition, the chancellor of the university himself has great expertise in the field of sociology. The Central University of Orissa is accredited by NAAC and approved by the UGC across different specializations. The students in Orissa generally prefer this college due to its rich & diverse curriculum.

Central University Of Odisha Scholarships
The Central University Of Orissa Bhubaneswar awards various scholarships to graduate & postgraduate students. The scholarship provision is according to UGC Government. Free ships or scholarships are provided to students based on academic performance and financial performance. The scholarships offered are:
- Non-NET fellowships are given to visually challenged students
- The fellowship is Rs. 5000 for M. Phil students
- Ph.D. scholarship offers a fellowship of Rs. 8000 for six semesters
