Central University (CU) of Kashmir was started in March 2009, which is now called the Central University of Jammu and Kashmir, which is one among the recently started central universities of different states. It is a significant university approved by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
- The university provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral education at a reasonable cost for the students of weaker sections of society to help them achieve their goals.
- To get admissions to the university for various courses, the students have to clear the CUCET, GATE, and CMAT exams with scores as per reservation cutoff.
- Scholarship opportunities are provided to eligible students based on financial background and academic performance.
- The university has vast links with research and industry organizations to prepare the students for on-campus and off-campus drives.
The university covers 503 Acres of land, having basic facilities like transport for students and lecturers at reasonable rates, hostels with recreation room, mess facility, and indoor games, library having 500 e-journals, 2500 references, and textbooks. The university is about 300 km from National Highway, 233km from Srinagar city, and 9km from Srinagar International Airport.
