The Agni College of Technology was founded in 2001 by the Charity and Education Foundation of Sri Balaji, formerly popular by the name Vel's Srinivasan College of Engineering and Technology. It is affiliated with Anna University in Chennai and approved by AICTE of New Delhi. It is a certified ISO 9001: 2008 institute accredited by the National Accreditation Board (NBA).
- The institute offers courses such as BE, B. Tech, ME and PhD successively. All the faculties of the institute are highly qualified and have practical teaching experience.
- The main vision is to develop entrepreneurial and managerial skills to train aspirants through a quality technical education that combines current knowledge, green practices and the creation of values for the nation's construction.
- The internship cell/Placement begins with a comprehensive training program from the 1st semester with communication skills and the second semester with personality development. In the 2nd and 3rd years, students receive training with at least two state-of-the-art certifications.
The institute department has also signed memoranda of understanding with collaborative leaders of industry institutes, organizing conferences of industry guests. Real-time projects are also sent to students to test their skills. Moreover, several placement training is provided in the institute by various reputed companies such as HP for training advanced java programming, Networking/CCNA, Resurge academy for training Personality development and Soft skills, CADD centre for training Solid works, Auto cad 2D, Hyper mesh, CFD, Revit architecture and many more.
