VIT offers UG and PG courses in Engineering, Science, Agriculture, Architecture, Arts, Commerce, Management, etc. In addition, all the VIT Vellore Courses are recognized by UGC and are approved by AICTE. Admission to VIT is based on entrance test performance. VIT's flagship program is B Tech. Thus, it conducts a separate entrance test for offering admission. It is a popular entrance exam. On a yearly basis, More than 2 lakh students apply for VITEEE. (VIT Engineering Entrance Exam)

VIT University B.Tech Admission

For admission to the most sought-after VIT Vellore B.Tech programs, the applicants shall pass their class 10+2/Pre-University with at least 60% aggregate marks in PCM/ PCB subjects. It is 4 years long, full-time, and includes the below-mentioned VIT Vellore Engineering disciplines.

About VITEEE

VIT Engineering Entrance Exam, or VITEEE, will be conducted online (Computer-based). Students who want to enroll in B Tech must appear for this exam. VIT Entrance Exam Registration will begin in November. The last date to apply for the VIT Vellore Exam is December. Students must ensure the details regarding the entrance test by looking at the official brochure, available on the university's main website. Also, make sure the VIT Vellore Exam Date. It is expected to be conducted in the 2nd week of February.

The VIT exam syllabus includes all the topics taught in classes 11th and 12th, along with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and General Aptitude. Test takers must also review the VIT Vellore Exam Pattern.

VIT University B. Sc Admission

The university offers many B. Sc programs for talented individuals. These programs are 3 years long and offered only full-time. Some of the popular disciplines offered under the VIT Vellore B. Sc category are

VIT University Law Admission

Aspiring students applying for law-integrated courses in VIT Vellore must ensure the eligibility norms. All the UG Law courses are 5 years long, full-time, and require securing at least 60% aggregate marks in class 10+2 with relevant subjects. The disciplines offered under law courses are

  • BA LLB (Hons.)
  • BBA LLB (Hons.)

Admission to VIT Vellore BBA LLB and BA LLB courses is provided based on valid law entrance exams like LSAT/ CLAT UG scores. It will be followed by the university's personal interviews and group discussions. The final merit list will be prepared based on the scores from all these factors.

VIT University B Arch and B Des Admission

For admission to the B. Des program, the applicants shall have secured at least 60% aggregate marks in class 10+2 with English as a mandatory subject. Moreover, applicants must attend the UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design). Those students who have not appeared for the national level test can sit for the VIT-DAT (VIT Design Aptitude Test) conducted by the university. The VIT-DAT exam is held once a year for 1 hour. The exam in August consists of a written design aptitude test followed by a personal interview.

Students interested in VIT University B Arch admission must clear the national entrance test NATA. Additionally, they shall have cleared 10+2 board exams with at least 60% as minimum marks. Selection will be purely based on NATA Scores and academic merit.

VIT University UG Admission (BCA, BBA, B Com)

To secure admission to VIT Vellore UG courses, the students shall strictly follow the admission criteria.

  • The BCA programs are available for candidates who satisfy admission criteria. Therefore, securing 60% marks in class 10+2 is important because admission to VIT Vellore BCA will be merit-based.
  • Applicants must secure at least 60% aggregate marks in class 10+2 in relevant commerce subjects to be eligible for VIT University BBA. Moreover, admission to BBA will be merit-based, but priority will be given to students who have taken the VITBEE exam.

Note: The VIT BBA Entrance Exam, known as VITBEE, is held annually to select the top performers who wish to secure a seat in BBA (Hons.) Program. There will be 120  questions in the exam for 120 minutes.

  • Students applying for B Com must secure at least 60% marks in class 10+2 with commerce stream subjects. In addition, though there will be no entrance exams, the selected students must participate in personal interviews held by the university.

VIT University M. Tech Admission

The university offers an opportunity to nurture engineering skills by pursuing M. Tech programs. These 2 years, full-time programs are offered in several popular specializations:

The M. Tech courses in VIT Vellore are offered only to graduates with full-time B. Tech degrees from a reputed institute. Therefore, it is important to pursue a Master's in a similar field wherein the Bachelor's Degree was awarded. No admissions are provided to part-time degree holders. Final assortments will be made based on the scores obtained in the VITMEE exam, also known as the VIT M. Tech entrance exam. 

The VITMEE exam for M. Tech admissions is held online at certain selected locations. It is a 2-hour exam with MCQ-based questions. Interested students are now informed that the availability of certain disciplines, the number of vacant sets, and the exam cut-offs might differ for various VIT campuses. The applicants shall take note of the VIT University application's last date, as late submissions are not accepted.

VIT University M. Sc Admission

The applicants who wish to pursue the esteemed PG M. Sc courses from the university shall apply based on qualifying exam marks. These are 2 years long programs offered full-time and involve popular specializations like

Eligibility for an MSc is passing Qualifying B. Sc Degree Exams in the respective fields with at least 60% aggregate marks. It is necessary because the admissions are solely merit-based. But that doesn't guarantee any VIT University Management Quota.

VIT University MBA Admission

The VIT Vellore MBA programs are coveted courses with stellar placement records and optimum teaching pedagogy. Admission to MBA courses is rigorous due to the high number of applicants and limited seats on the different VIT campuses. The MBA programs are 2 years long and offered full-time only.

An applicant who wishes to pursue the VIT University MBA courses shall secure a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in any Bachelor's Degree exams from a good institute. Moreover, submitting the original scores from entrance exams like VITBEE/ CAT/ XAT/ MAT/ NMAT/ GMAT/ CMAT/ ATMA is compulsory. Those applicants with valid scores in national exams are exempted from VITBEE.

After taking the VIT Vellore MBA entrance exam, the university will invite the selected students for personal interviews and group discussions. However, applicants with prior professional work experience will be given preference. Any part-time Bachelor's Degree applicant will not be invited to these interview rounds.

The VIT University Business School Entrance Exam, also known as VITBEE, is held annually in March to shortlist talented students for MBA admissions. The application process is online and offline, whereas the VIT University application fee for MBA is Rs. 1200.

VIT University PG Admission

To keep up with the global demands, the university offers many prestigious PG courses like LLM, M. Des, MCA MSW, and other M.Sc/ M.Tech Integrated programs. Naturally, the course fee, the number of vacant seats, and the course objectives will vary depending on the program the student chooses. Nevertheless, some details for the PG mentioned above are given.

  • Admission for VIT M. Des programs is open to all those eligible students who have secured at least 60% marks in Qualifying B. Des degree exams. It is also mandatory to take the CEED exam, i.e., the Common Entrance Exam for Design. This 2-year long, full-time course is offered only in the Industrial Design category.
  • Applicants with a minimum of 60% marks in BCA qualifying exams with Mathematics as a mandatory subject are eligible to apply for VIT Vellore MCA programs. However, the students shall take the VITMEE exam and a personal interview to secure admission.
  • For admission to VIT University Law courses at the PG level, the applicants shall compulsorily secure a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in any relevant Bachelor's Degree exam. This 1-year program includes 3 popular disciplines- International Law and Development, Intellectual Property Rights, and Corporate Laws. Also, the students are advised to take AIAT/ CLAT PG/ AILET.

VIT University conducts the All India Admission Test (AIAT) to provide admission to LLM courses. It is conducted once a year. The exam has 3 components, namely Part 1 ( English Proficiency, General Aptitude), Part 2 ( Law Objective Questions), and Part 3 (Interview). Equal weightage will be specified for all the sections, followed by group discussions.

VIT University Application Process

VIT Vellore admission guidelines are stringent and meticulous. Therefore, the applicants are suggested to apply before the VIT University application date. If you’re looking for an MCA program at VIT University must have completed a graduation degree from a recognized University with a min of 50% mark. However, the selections will depend on VITEEE which is conducted by the University.

 If you are willing to B-Tech admissions, it is necessary to have passed 10+2 board exams with VITEEE or JEE Main scores. The overall cut-off score is 118-72 marks, and the rank would be up to 8500.

Direct admission is impossible at VIT Vellore. Students are required to appear for VIT Entrance Exam, that is, VITEEE, to be eligible for admission to the engineering courses. Thus, the entrance exam is compulsory.
