VELS Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS) was started in the academic year 1992 and is currently having Deemed University status by UGC received in the academic year 2008. The Institute has offered Nautical Science, Animation, Maritime Studies, Coastal & Ocean Engineering, Film & Television Production, etc., courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The students seeking admission to the UG courses offered in the Institute must have 10+2 as basic eligibility with at least 50% marks. For PG, Graduation or Master’s degree in relevant stream with at least 50% marks from a recognized university is required.

The Institute has three modes of applying to Post, online mode & direct. The application fee would vary from each mode of the application process.

  • The application process for professional courses occurs every year in May through the VEE exam followed by a Personal Interview.
  • Other course's admission will be purely based on the marks obtained in qualifying marks and performance in the personal interview round.
  • UG courses have three years to four years, and PG courses have two years to four years.
  • A valid score in CAT or MAT or XAT or VEE exam is required for MBA admissions.

VISTAS B.Tech Admissions:

VISTAS offers 13 specializations in several areas for a duration of four years under B. Tech course offered at the undergraduate level. The Institute accepts students with basic eligibility of 10+2 or equivalent in science stream with relevant subjects from the standard board. The admission process for the B.Tech course will be based on VEE score or merit in the qualifying exam.

VISTAS B.Sc. Admissions:

The Institute offers a B.Sc. course with several specializations in engineering, science, computer application, hotel management, aviation, etc. The students applying for the B.Tech course must have basic 12th or equivalent eligibility with relevant subjects from a familiar central or state board. The students will be allotted seats in the B.Sc. course by the Institute based on the VEE exam performance or qualifying exam.

VISTAS BA Admissions:

The VISTAS offers two specializations in the Arts stream at the bachelor’s level for three years. The students with basic eligibility of 10+2 or equivalent in relevant stream from the renowned board will be eligible for applying to BA course. The university's selection process will be based on VEE or Qualifying exam performance.

VISTAS B.Com Admissions:

Three specializations in commerce stream for three years are offered by the Institute at bachelor’s level. The students must have passed in 10+2 or equivalent in Commerce stream to qualify for the course. The Institute conducts an entrance test (VEE) to seek admission to the courses. The selection process will either be based on merit in the qualifying exam or Institute’s entrance exam.

VISTAS Other UG courses Admissions:

Other undergraduate courses offered by the Institute are B.Pharm, BPT, BCA, BCA (Hons), BBA, BA LLB (Hons), and B.Sc. + B.Ed. Integrated courses. The students applying for the UG course must have passed their HSC level education in relevant subjects from a well-recognized central or state board. The Institute conducts an entrance test for the admission process. The admission committee decides who has to attend the entrance exam and will be selected directly based on the qualifying exam's merit.

The Institute does offer a Business Administration course at the postgraduate level for a duration of two years. The students are supposed to hold a bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream for all specializations and 10+2 or equivalent for the integrated course from a renowned board. The course selection will be based on the CAT or MAT or XAT or VEE exam performance.

VISTAS offers an M.Tech course with eight specializations for the students with two years of four semesters. The admission process in the Institute is based on the students’ performance in the qualifying exam, and students applying for Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering must have a valid score in the GATE exam.

Computer Application is a course that the Institute offers at the postgraduate level for a duration of three years. Students seeking admission to the MCA course in VISTAS must have a basic Bachelor’s degree with statistics or Mathematics or any equivalent degree and Mathematics at the 10+2 level. The Institute selects students with good performance in the qualifying exam: a bachelor’s degree.

VISTAS Application Process:

  • The students must submit necessary documents and the application form by paying the application fee through online mode with Net Banking or other E-mode of payment.

  • The Application form, along with the registration fee, has to be sent to the Institute as a registered post.
  • International students are required to attach the required documents.

The basic eligibility is to have passed 10+2 board exams with a min of 50% mark. However, the selections will be based on academic merit in the qualifying exam followed by VELS entrance exam results.

The mode of the VELS University application process is online as well offline. VELS Online application form can be accessed on the official website of VELS University. The forms can be downloaded or can be filled out by online method. Alternatively, students can obtain the prospects/VELS admission forms at the admission office. However, applicants must register separately for VELS Entrance Test for a few professional courses (B Tech, MBA, Law and Pharmacy)

VELS University MBA Admission is granted based on the VEE Scores. Thus, admission seekers have to clear the VELS University Entrance Exam to be eligible. Besides, they must have completed a bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50%. The final selection of the students and seat allotment will be done through the counselling process. Candidates who have an eligible score in CAT, XAT, and MAT are also eligible to apply.
