Uttar Pradesh Textile Technology Institute (formerly known as Government Central Textile, University)  is one of the premium textile institutes located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The institute is an autonomous institution of the government of UP and affiliated with AKTU, Lucknow. The All India Council approves UPTTI for Technical Education, New Delhi.  UPTTI was founded in 1914 and offered undergraduate and postgraduate courses in textile engineering and technology. The institute aims in providing world-class textile education and research opportunity for the upliftment of the textile industry.

  • UPTTI offers a bachelor's course in the field of textile technology under various specializations. The course aims in providing quality education and delivers highly qualified professionals.
  • Candidates seeking admission in the Bachelor's course at UPTTI have to undertake an entrance exam conducted by the NTA.
  • The institute also offers master's courses in the field of textile technology. Admission in the Masters' course at UPTTI is based on marks secured in the state-level entrance exam UPCET M.Tech.

Uttar Pradesh Textile Technology Institute B.Tech Admission:

  • UPTTI provides a full-time on-campus B.Tech course in textile engineering and technology under four different streams.
  • Candidates seeking admission in the B.Tech course at UPTTI have to appear for the JEE Main entrance exam conducted by NTA.
  • To be eligible to apply in B Tech course, candidates must have passed 10+2 from any recognized board. Whereas, the minimum qualifying mark is 45%.
  • The final selection of candidates in the B.Tech course at UPTTI will be based on the entrance exam result and would be carried forward on counselling.

Uttar Pradesh Textile Technology Institute M.Tech Admission:

  • UPTTI provides M.Tech courses in the field of textile engineering and technology under two different specializations.
  • Candidates willing to take admission in the M.Tech course at UPTTI have to undertake state-level entrance exam UPCET-M.Tech (Formerly known as UPSEE M.Tech).
  • To be eligible to apply in the M.Tech course at UPTTI, candidates must have BE or B.Tech degrees in a relevant stream from any UGC or AIU-Approved university.
  • In addition, candidates must have scored a minimum of 45% marks in aggregation. The admission of candidates in the M.tech course at UPTTI will be based on marks scored in the entrance exam.

  • The admission in B.Tech and M.Tech courses at UPTTI is based on the UPCET score.
  • Candidates are required to visit the official website of A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University and fill up the UPCET form by paying the application fee via multiple payment methods available.
  • The selected candidates would be allocated a seat in UPTTI.

Selected candidates have to visit the institute campus for the counselling round.

Applicants can be eligible to get MBA admissions if they have completed a graduation degree from any recognized university with a minimum of 45% marks. The selections will be based on management entrance exam scores like CAT/ MAT/ XAT, etc. 

I want to take direct admission to M. Tech - Textile Branch. Do you offer direct admissions?

Since this is a public college, M.Tech direct admission to UPTTI is not offered. Candidates based on merit shall only be able to take seats.

Sir if want to get direct admission without any entrance exam what's the process to get admission for B.Tech

This is a public college and direct admission to B.Tech or any program at UPTTI is not offered. Because Uttar Pradesh Textile Institute is a government institution, you must have passed the UPSEE entrance test to be considered for admission. To apply for a B.Tech course, you must have completed 10+2 and must have taken and passed the UPSEE/ UPCET test. The UPSEE/ UPCET exam is required for admission. Candidates shall also contact or visit the college directly for further information regarding management quota admission to UPTTI.

For candidates looking for admission to UPTTI, this is one of the best colleges when it comes to placement. The minimum package offered is INR 3LPA while the highest package offered is INR 15 LPA.
