University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) is a constituent part of Panjab University, Chandigarh. It is a public educational institution established in 2002 and approved by AICTE. The UIET imparts high-quality technical education at a reasonable fee structure. The well-qualified & experienced faculty team is the backbone of UIET. Thus the college is recognized for its strategic teaching, and learning procedures has received many rewards & recognitions for its academic excellence. The UIET ranked among the top 30 Best Engineering Institutions in India. In 2013, The Week Survey, UIET bagged 17th rank among Top Engineering Colleges in North Region. In 2012, OUTLOOK Survey, UIET bagged 31st Rank among Top Engineering Colleges.

  • UIET has excellent infrastructure and offers the best campus amenities. A well-equipped laboratory and state-of-art computer lab provide exposure to practical learning aspects in the engineering stream.
  • UIET offers a full-time B Tech program at the Undergraduate level in six main specializations. Students are supposed to apply for B Tech admission at UIET only after satisfying the minimum eligibility norms.
  • The Six-B Tech specializations offered by UIET are CSE, Mechanical, Information Technology, ECE, EEE, and Biotechnology.
  • The B Tech course eligibility norms are, candidates must have passed in 10+2 board examination in the science stream with a minimum of 75% aggregate marks.
  • The candidates must appear for the JEE Main entrance exam and must attain a valid score equivalent to the college's cut off norms.
  • While screening the application forms, the concerned admission authority will consider both JEE Main Score and qualifying examination marks to prepare the final merit list.
  • UIET also offers a five-year Integrated program BE+MBA, a combination of Engineering & Management stream.
  • UIET offers a full-time M Tech program at the Post Graduate level in six diverse specializations. Applicants who satisfy the eligibility norms can apply for M Tech admission at UIET
  • The Six M Tech specializations offered by UIET are Bio Technology, CSE, ECE, Information Technology (IT), Microelectronics, and Mechanical.
  • The M Tech Program eligibility criteria are, students should have possessed bachelor's degree B Tech in concerned discipline with a minimum aggregate mark.
  • Applicants seeking M Tech admission in this college must appear for a university-level entrance test known as PUCET conducted by Panjab University.
  • Candidates who have qualified in GATE with a good score are also eligible to apply for M Tech admission. Those candidates are exempted from appearing PUCET.

University Institute of Engineering and Technology Application Process

Applicants interested in securing admission to the B Tech or M Tech programs in UIET can fill an online application form available at the main website of the Institute. Applicants are advised to check the following steps mentioned below to apply online.

How to apply online?

  • At first, visit the UIET's official website.
  • On the home page, go to the admission section and click on the available link "Apply online."
  • Applicants must fill in the details correctly and upload the scanned images of documents in a prescribed format.
  • Applicants must pay the stipulated application fees through an online mode by using any payment method.
  • Upon successful payment, candidates can submit the form by cross checking once.
  • After submission, take the printout of the duly filled form and preserve it for future reference.

University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) is affiliated with Panjab University and approved by AICTE. It offers B.Tech programs with accreditation by the NBA. Eligibility requires candidates to have completed 10+2 in the Science stream from a recognized institute or board. Selection is based on the JEE-Main entrance exam. The UIET Chandigarh cutoff for the General Category ranged from 29987 to 74346 rank. The CSE cutoff was 29987th rank. The JEE-Main entrance test is used to determine eligibility for admission to the UIET for B Tech. The admissions procedure begins immediately following the release of the JEE advance results. All candidates must complete the application form in order to register. The UIET's official website has an application form.

To apply for BE degree in UIET, candidates must fill in the application form available at the UIET’s official site. It must be filled duly and correctly. After filling out the form, candidates are required to make the registration fee. Payment can be done via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or e-Challan.
