TSOM is one of the oldest autonomous institutions in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in 1962 by Karumuthu Thiagaraja Chettiar, who had the vision to impart professional education to the business community of South India. The school has been consistently ranked among the best MBA colleges in South India. Thiagarajar School of Management NIRF Ranking 2022 is 96 for MBA.

As a result, The NBA, the UGC, and the AICTE have accredited Thiagarajar College Madurai.  They emphasize problem-solving and use the latest trending technologies to teach their students.

The College offers Admission to the MBA and PGDM Programs. It offers a dual degree program, PGCM+MS, in collaboration with USA Universities. Besides, the College offers admission to the Ph.D. program in management studies. Apart from the normal course syllabus, the institute has a special Executive Development Program designed to make managers more effective. The program focuses on soft skills training like computer applications, English communication, Hindi communication, etc.

Thiagarajar School of Management Course admission is done through a series of entrance tests. Then, the candidates will be chosen based on their past academic records and performance in a written aptitude test. PI and GD follow this. However, it accepts the valid scores of CAT, MAT, XAT, or TANCET management exams.

To qualify for a seat at the TSOM, candidates must have a valid score in one of the entrance exams. The school's admission criteria are based on past academic records and performance in the selection rounds. These include GD-PI, group discussions, written ability tests, and personal interviews.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must hold a UG degree in any field with a min of 50%.
  • Students with a minimum score of 45% in the SC/ST category or OBC category are also eligible.
  • Candidates in their last year are also eligible.

Selection Criteria

  • The College first shortlists applicants based on their CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT/TANCET scores, prior academic standing (X, XII, and graduation), and work experience (if any).
  • Individual interviews, GD, and written ability tests are held with the shortlisted individuals.
  • During the PI, candidates are tested on their writing, verbal, and analytical skills.
  • Candidates must pay INR 900 for the GD-PI rounds.
  • The results of the admission exam, academic record, work experience, participation in sports and other extracurricular activities, and the GD-PI-WAT procedure all contribute to the final selection.

How can I apply for an MBA at Thiagarajar College?

Those interested in applying for MBA/PGDM programs can fill out a Thiagarajar College online application form. Candidates who wish to apply must have a current CAT, XAT, CMAT, or MAT score. However, candidates who have a valid TANCET score will be allowed through counselling. They are not required to appear for GD or PI rounds.

Thiagarajar School of Management Dual Degree (PGCM+MS)

Both full-time and part-time options are available for the PhD programme at TSM Madurai. It is allied with Algappa University to offer a PhD. Every student who has registered for the PhD programme is required to take courses in the first year, according to Alagappa University's recommendations.

Shortlisted candidates for PhD admission at TSM Madurai are chosen based on their academic standing, entrance exam results, and performance in the PI round. Candidates are shortlisted based on their CAT/ GMAT/ XAT/ ATMA/ MAT/ CMAT score previous academic record. Candidates who have been shortlisted will be invited to participate in a group discussion, a personal interview, and a written ability test (GD-PI-WAT). TANCET cut-off for MBA is 95 percentile.
