Eligibility and Admission Procedure for 5-year B.A., LL.B.:-

  • Admissions to the first year of the 5-year B.A., LL.B. integrated course in all colleges under Karnataka State Law University's jurisdiction is strictly based on merit, based on the marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying exam.
  • To be eligible for admission in the 5-year B.A., LL.B. integrated course, and the candidate should:
  • have completed Pre-University course or Senior Secondary School course (‘+2’) or equivalents such as (11+1, ‘A’ level in Senior School Leaving Certificate course) from a recognized University of India or outside or from Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Union or by the State Government or from an equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the government of that country for the issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the course.
  • Provided that applicants who have obtained a +2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate or First Degree Certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence methods shall also be considered eligible for admission to the course. 
  • Provided further that the applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation or post-graduation through open Universities system directly without having any necessary qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission to the course.
  • Be or be less than twenty years in the case of the general category of applicants and less than twenty-two years in the case of applicants from SC, ST, and other backward communities as of 1st June.
  • Have secured marks, which shall not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in qualifying examination, in case of general category applicants, and 40% (39.5% and above shall be treated as 40%) of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.

Eligibility and Admission Procedure for 3 Year LL.B:-

  • Admissions to the first year of the 3 year LL.B. course in all colleges under Karnataka State Law University's jurisdiction are strictly based on merit, based on the marks secured by the qualifying exam candidate.
  • To be eligible for admission in the 3-year LL.B. course, the candidate should:
  • Have graduated in any discipline of knowledge from a University established by an Act of Parliament or by a State Legislature or an equivalent national institution recognized as a Deemed to be University or Foreign University recognized as equivalent to the status of an Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence, may apply for a three-year degree course in law leading to the conferment of LL.B. degree on successful completion of the regular program conducted under these Regulations.
  • Be or be less than thirty years in the case of the general category of applicants and thirty-five years in applicants from SC, ST, and other backward communities as of 1st June.
  • Have secured marks, which shall not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in general category applicants and 40% of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.
  • Reservation: 
  • Reservation for the SC/ST and other Backward classes shall be made according to the Government's directions in force from time to time. 
  • Attendance, Progress, etc.,
  • Each student shall attend not less than seventy percent of the prescribed number of working periods in each of the subjects comprising the course and the contact program classes, tutorials, and practical training classes as may be prescribed for each subject for each semester throughout the course. 
  • Each semester shall be taken as a unit to calculate attendance. 
  • Conduct and progress shall be satisfactory during the semester period. 
  • Students who fail to satisfy the above requirements shall not be eligible to take the Semester examination. 
  • No candidate shall be eligible to move to the next higher class unless he/she has passed the lower class's semester examinations as prescribed by Regulations.

The minimum eligibility for the LLB program at Oxford College is to have passed 10+2 board exams with a minimum of 50% marks. For reserved category students, 5% relaxation is given. The minimum age limit to apply is 17 years.
