Tata Institute of Fundamental Research is shortly termed as NIRF and is a National Centre of the Government of India. This institute is a constituent part under Atomic Energy and has got the status of deemed university granting degrees for the postgraduate and research-level program. TORF was started in the year 1945 with the total support of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. This college is received accreditation by NAAC with a grade of “A+.”

  • Tata Institute of Fundamental Research-TIRF, Mumbai, offers several integrated and research programs under the School of Mathematics, School of Natural Science, School of Technology and Computer Science. Majorly the programs provided in TIRF, Mumbai are Master and Research level programs.
  • The program TIRF is integrated M.Sc. in several streams such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. At the doctoral level, the course offered is Ph.D. in the same specializations.

  • Tata Institute of Fundamental Research-TIRF, Mumbai entrance exam is called as TIRF entrance test. Every candidate seeking to take admission in TIRF, Mumbai must have qualified in this entrance test as candidates will be selected for the courses based on their entrance test scores.
  • The application process of the TIRF, Mu, Mumbai will be conducted online. Applicants must apply for the desired course through the TIRF official website.  The application form fee will cost Rs. 900/- for males and Rs. 300 for female applicants.

Candidates post-B.Sc. Completion can apply for M.Sc. The course is available in two specialisations. Seats are allotted based on academic merit and college cut-off. Admissions to M.Sc. at TIFR can be taken through graduation merit.

How to get direct admissions in TIFR?

TIFR is a deemed university. The candidates willing to get direct admissions for the M.Sc. program must have a graduation degree followed by interview rounds to get into direct entries in TIFR.
