Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication is also ranked the third-best college for media studies in India. The institute has won many more prestigious awards. SIMC Pune was established in 1991. It offers  two academic programs, i.e., MBA (communication management) and MA (mass communication). 

Candidates for Symbiosis admission must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% of the possible points (45% for SC/ST candidates). Candidates for the program can also be in their last year of graduation. For MA (MC) admission, an internal online entrance test is used to select students. Whereas the SNAP score is used for admission to the Symbiosis MBA Admission program, The final selection of the individuals on the shortlist is determined by a writing ability test, group discussions, and a personal interview.

Who is eligible for SIMC Pune ?

 For Indian and international students, there are differences in their eligibility to apply for the courses:

 Indian Students

  • A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% of the possible scores or an equivalent grade (45% for SC/ST applicants) is required. 
  • Candidates in their last year may also apply. Admission will be valid only if they can provide documentation of their graduation with a 50% grade or higher.
  • Anybody who has completed their education at a foreign university is required to get an equivalent certificate from AIU.

Foreign Students

  • Students with foreign passports are eligible to apply as foreign nationals (FN).
  • A student can apply as a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) if they are a citizen of a country other than India and have a PIO card.
  • A student is eligible to apply as a non-resident Indian (NRI) if they have passed the class 12 exam or graduated from college outside of India.

How to Apply for MA (MC)?

  • Visit SIMC's official website.
  • On the main page, select the "Admission Open for MA(MC)" tab.
  • Now register by filling out the required information.
  • Using the BillDesk Payment Gateway, pay INR 1950 using Net banking, a credit card, or a debit card.
  • View the details of your payment and registration.
  • After completing the signup process, you will be sent a password and email address.
  • Log in with the credentials mentioned above.
  • Now complete the Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication application form with all necessary information.
  • Once all the information has been entered, click the "Submit" button.

How  to get admission in Symbiosis MBA (CM)?

Step 1: Apply and register for SNAP.

  • Visit the website snaptest.org.
  • Select the tab labeled "Apply Now."
  • Choose the " SNAP Online Registration" tab to begin the registration process.
  • After carefully reading all of the instructions, click "I Agree" to accept the terms and conditions.
  • Fill out all of the fields accurately.
  • After entering the details, choose the "Save & Continue" tab.
  • You will receive an OTP for your phone number and email address.
  • Input the 'OTP' and send it through.
  • After a successful registration, you receive your SNAP ID and password via email and SMS.
  • Finally, pay the INR 2,250 application fee for the SNAP Test.
  • Payment Method: You can pay fees using a demand draft, an Indian bank gateway, a Billdesk payment gateway, or an Easebuzz payment gateway.

Step 2: Apply for MBA programs (CM).

  • Only applicants who have already enrolled for the SNAP Test can fill out the SIMC Pune registration form for the MBA (CM) course. You must pay an application fee of INR 1000.

Note: The SNAP Test is not required of candidates who are foreign nationals, OCIs, PIOs, or NRRIs. These candidates must, however, apply via SCIE.

SIMC Pune Scholarships 

The Symbiosis Society Foundation provides a range of scholarships to the institute's worthy students, including:

  • Postgraduate Merit Scholarship: Every year, SCIM Pune awards a scholarship to the best students who achieve a GPA of 7.50 in both the MBA and MA programs.
  • Award of Jayatee Deshmukh: A female student who has been admitted to the institute will get this grant. Woman who received the highest scores on the SNAP test, the institute would grant her a scholarship worth INR 75,000.
  • International Scholarship: In order to provide international students with the chance to pursue higher education, Symbiosis University and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations have collaborated to create a scholarship program. Only one full-time student will receive this, which will cover all living expenses, tuition, academic fees, and a meal stipend in accordance with standard procedures.

SIMC Pune offers admission to the full-time regular MBA program for two years. Unfortunately, there is no provision for Distance MBA education.

There is no UG program offered in this institute. Aspirants willing to take admissions to Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication shall apply for MA in mass communication after their graduation.

There is MA in Mass Communication & Journalism program offered. The course duration is two years for Candidates willing to seek Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication admissions to MA, and the fee would cost around INR 9.03 lakhs. When the payment is split and settled on a yearly academic basis, then it would be approx. INR 4 lakhs for one year.
