Padmavathi University Distance Education Centre (DEC), established in 2000, serves the educational requirements of individuals unable to engage in traditional higher education. Adaptable entry qualifications, self-paced learning, and the incorporation of suitable educational technology characterize this mode of off-campus learning. Typically, women are more susceptible to dropping out of conventional courses and facing barriers to pursuing their studies despite their keen interest. The DEC addresses the educational necessities of such women.

In 2014, the DEC underwent a name change and became the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE). Through distance learning, the SPMV DDE empowers women by providing them with higher education opportunities and fostering self-sufficiency. The courses offered aim to impart academic excellence and instill a sense of direction and inspiration in students, encouraging their active engagement with society.
