To gain admission to the University, prospective students must meet the admission criteria specified by the University. Here are the general admission criteria required for Distance Education:
Sambalpur University Distance Learning UG Admission
The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the Sambalpur University Distance UG Courses (BA, B Com, BCA) is passing class 12th exams with valid subjects under a recognized board. However, to be eligible for PG courses, students must obtain a valid UG degree from a UGC Approved university and passing marks. No entrance examination is required to be taken.
Students will be offered pre-recorded lectures, organized study materials, and self-assessment tests. All this material will be provided in hard copy form, whilst the University will try to provide the same content in soft copy format.
It will be a 3-year long course whose medium of instruction will be English. Students also have the flexibility to learn up to 4 years at par with the convenience. The mid-term examination will equal 30% of the total credits, and the end-term examination will be responsible for 70%.
For admission, the University will consider only those applicants who have cleared their exams under a recognized board at the class 12th level. Once selected, the University will offer one-to-one classes, doubt-clearing sessions, assignments, case studies, and project work for the overall improvement of students.
Sambalpur University Distance MBA Admission
The Distance MBA is a full-time, 2-year course available to all those candidates who passed their graduation degree exams from an approved university and obtained a valid UG degree. Applicants who get selected and are interested in further pursuing the course will have to pay the course fee of Rs. 32,000 annually and select a discipline to specialize in during the course.
The University will offer study material, including assignments, self-assessment quizzes, tests, etc., via the Learning Management System (LMS) platform and in hard copy (if possible). Students can track their learning, course outcomes, lectures provided, etc., on this platform by logging in using their student ID.
Sambalpur University Distance Learning MCA Admission
To secure admission to the Distance Education MCA program, students must pass their qualifying graduation degree exams with more than 50% aggregate marks and from a UGC Approved university. There will be a 5% mark relaxation for students belonging to reserved categories.
Generally, the most preferred UG programs during selections are B. Sc/ BCA/ B. E./ B. Tech in Computer Science and Information Technology. This 2-year program costs around Rs. 54 000 annually to students. Interested applicants must have a laptop and a stable internet connection to access lectures, tests, assignments, etc., on the Learning Management System (LMS).
Sambalpur University Distance Learning PGDCA Admission
Applicants seeking admission to a full-time, 2-year long PGDCA course must ensure they obtain their UG degree with passing marks and from a UGC Approved university.
Selected students must pay the course fees of Rs. 12,000 to secure their seats. Then they will be provided study materials by the University in hard copy and soft copy on the Learning Management System (LMS). Furthermore, self-assessment tests, quizzes, and midterm and end-term examinations are also conducted on this platform.
