Admission in North Bengal University 2025: Date, Cutoff, Eligibility

North Bengal University started as Public University in the academic year 1962, having a mission to provide and encourage instruction for training, research, and teaching in numerous disciplines of study and learning. The University offers Diploma, Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Research programs and also Distance Education in multiple disciplines. The University has reserved 60% of seats in the PG course for candidates who belong to the same University and the rest 40% for other University candidates. NBU Diploma Courses:

The university offers a Diploma course in one language for candidate who has done their 10+2 level education from a well-recognized board. The candidates are selected for admission to the university's course depending on their merit in the 10+2 qualifying exam.

NBU Undergraduate Courses Admissions:

The University offers various disciplines at the Undergraduate level for the candidates meeting the eligibility criteria. Programs offered at the Undergraduate level are B.Sc., BA, BBA, BCA, LLB, and BA.LLB, B.Ed. And B.L.I.Sc. The admission for UG courses is made through Merit in the qualifying exam.

NBU B.Sc. (Hons) Admission

NBU offers a Science program specializing in the candidate with eligibility criteria of 10+2 with relevant subjects with at least 60% marks. The candidates will be selected depending on the merit scored in the qualifying 10+2 exam.

NBU BA (Hons) Admission

The university offers Arts (Honours) program with numerous specializations for candidates with basic eligibility of 10+2 in any subject with 60% marks. The University selects the candidates who have merit in their qualifying exam.

NBU BBA Admission

The university provides a Business Administration program at the UG level for candidates with 10+2 education in any subject from a recognized board. The selection process for admission is based on merit in the 10+2 exam.

NBU BCA Admission

Computer Application is also a discipline that the University offers at the Undergraduate level. The student with merit in the 10+2 exam with Mathematics subject must get admission into the course.

NBU LLB (Hons) Admission

NBU provides a Law program at the UG level for candidates who graduated in any stream from any recognized university. The selection will be made on merit in the relevant UG Degree.

NBU BA.LLB (Hons) Admission

The University provides BA.LLB program for five years for candidates with a basic education level of 10+2 with at least 55% aggregate marks from a recognized board. The candidates would be selected based on the merit of the same exam.

NBU B.Ed. And B.L.I.Sc. Admission

NBU does offer Education and Library Science disciplines at the Undergraduate level. Therefore, any candidate with graduation eligibility with 50% marks in the applicable stream from a recognized University can get admission to the course. The University will select the candidate.

NBU Postgraduate Courses Admissions:

North Bengal University offers various disciplines at the Postgraduate level for candidates satisfying the university's eligibility criterion. The postgraduate programs are MA, M.Com, M.Sc., LLM, M.L.I.Sc., PGD, MBA, and MCA. And admissions to these PG programs are made through written tests and entrance exam scores.

NBU MA Admission

Arts, a discipline offered by the University at PG level for students with Honours Degree in the relevant field under 10+2+3 pattern education. The candidates' admission selection will be based on scores in the university's written test and performance in the Viva round.

NBU M.Com Admission

NBU offers commerce discipline for candidates with 10+2+3 pattern Honours Degree in the related stream, and the selection will be based on the merit in NBU Written Test and Viva.

NBU M.Sc. Admission

The University does offer a Science stream at the Postgraduate level with several specializations. The candidates are selected based on the Written Test conducted by NBU and the Viva performance. The basic eligibility to apply is graduation in the applicable stream.

NBU LLM Admission

The program offered at the Postgraduate level requires education of LLB or integrated LLB with 50% marks, and the selection to this program is based on an NBU written Test and a Viva-Voce.

NBU M.L.I.Sc. Admission

NBU offers the Library Science program, and its admission will be based on merit in the University’s written test, and eligibility must be of B.L.I.Sc. From a recognized University.

NBU PGD Admission

Post Graduate Diploma has various specializations that the University offers for candidates with graduation in a related stream from a recognized University. The selection for the course is made through the written test of NBU and Viva-voce.

NBU MBA Admission

The Business Administration stream is offered in the University for which basic eligibility is graduation in any discipline (not Performing arts and Fine arts). The selection for admission is made through scores in entrance exams and performance in GD and PI rounds.

NBU MCA Admission

The university offers a computer application program at the Postgraduate level for students with Bachelor’s degrees with 60% marks and Mathematics as a compulsory subject at the 10+2 level or graduation level. The candidates will have to attend a test conducted by the University and attend an interview for admission.

Research Program Admissions:

The university offers research-level programs such as PhD and M.Phil. for candidates with Post Graduation degrees in the applicable stream for which admission selection will be made on the Written Test and Interview performance.

NBU Application Process:

The candidates are required to visit NBU official webpage and get their application form. The form has to be filled with all details and submitted online through the website. The fee has to be paid online or even through NBU-SBI Challan. The application form must be taken in a print out after submitting it to the University as proof and further admission process. The students must carry all originals and a copy of documents for verification.
