National Institute of Foundry & Forge Technology (NIFFT), Ranchi, was started in 1966 as a central Institute for offering Foundry and Forge education high importance. The institute has offered programs at Under Graduate, Post Graduate, Advanced Diploma, and Research levels such as B.Tech, M.Tech, Advanced diplomas, and Ph.D. with specializations.

  • The students will have to fill application form for the desired program and submit it in offline mode.
  • Students must hold a bachelor’s degree in applicable discipline for applying to M.Tech and Advanced Diploma.
  • A Master's Degree in applicable discipline is mandatory for Ph.D. program admissions.
  • Seats are allotted for students in the B.Tech program through CSAB, centralized counseling, along performance in JEE Main exam.
  • M.Tech program admission is based on GATE exam score followed by centralized counseling.
  • Advanced Diploma course admissions will be based on Institute’s written test followed by an interview.

NIFFT, Ranchi B.Tech Admissions:

The B.Tech program is offered by the Institute with two specializations for eight semesters, that is, four years. The students must have 75% marks in the 10+2 level with 75% marks from a well-recognized board. The students will be selected for admissions based on 60% importance of JEE Main score and 40% importance of the 10+2 exam score. The seats will be allotted for the B.Tech program by CSAB through centralized counseling. The students will have to register for CSAB before the 4th Week of July, along with an application fee of INR 1000/-

The Institute in M.Tech program offered four specializations for four semesters, that is, for two years. The basic eligibility required per the rules to apply for the M.Tech program is Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in relevant specializations from a well-recognized university. The selection process for M.Tech program admission will be based on GATE score and qualifying exam merit.

NIFFT, Ranchi Advanced Diploma Course Admissions:

The Institute is offering Advanced Diploma Course with two specializations for the students to opt from. The basic eligibility for Diploma in Mechanical or Metallurgical or Production Engineering or B.Sc. Degree in PCM with 50% marks from a recognized university. The program selection process will be based on written tests and interviews held by the Institute.

NIFFT has been ranked among Engineering colleges. To be eligible for B.Tech admission, candidates must have passed 10+2. Admission to B.Tech programs is conducted through JoSAA, where candidates who have appeared for JEE Mains can apply. Applicants need to register on the official website of JEE Main, fill out the online application form, and submit it after providing personal details and generating a user ID and password. The National Institute Of Foundry & Forge Technology Cut Off ranged from 38584 to 62429 rank.

NIFFT, Ranchi admissions for the B.Tech is made on the basis of the ranking we students have got in the JEE main. My JEE Main cut-off was all fine and meeting the criteria of the college. where the NIIFT, ranchi cut-off for the B.tech in metallurgy& materials engineering was 55,000 general ranking of JEE mains slightly lower for the other stream.

Aspirants who are seeking to get admission for 1-year advanced diploma course, must have secured minimum 50% aggregate score in the qualified examination (Diploma in Mechanical or Metallurgical streams) or candidates must have possessed B.Sc. degree. National Institute of Foundry & Forge Technology (NIFFT) admissions will be granted on the basis of written test conducted by institute.

 


Hii I didn't qualify gate 2020 but how can I take admission for M.tech ,When form will comes out ?

The institute being a public institute there are no direct admissions or management quota given so candidates should be GATE qualified along with academic merit based on this National Institute of Foundry & Forge Technology M.Tech admissions will be granted. And the application form will be released in the month of April and May.


Hello sir I am doing my diploma in mechatronics from CTTC Bhubaneshwar.Now I want to take admission in advance diploma in foundry (ADC), may I do this çourse .Thanks

Hi KR Varun,
The admission process:

  • Since you have done diploma in mechatronics,you can take choose this course for further studies.
  • Admission is based on the Written Test conducted by the NIFFT, Ranchi.
  • The candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination (Diploma in Metallurgical/Mechanical/Production Engineering/B.Sc.degree with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). 
  • Relaxed criteria of 45% marks will be applicable to candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
  • The total fee will cost around INR 27650 , duration of 1year 6months.
