Madras School of Social Work is affiliated to University of Madras and is an autonomous college established in the year 1952. The school is NAAC accredited and is also affiliated to International Association of Schools of Social Work. The main objective of the school is to impart education in the fields of Human Resource, Professional Social Work and Psychology also other social science related disciplines.
The courses offered at bachelor’s degree include BSW and B.Sc. in psychology, similarly at post-graduation level there is MSW, M.Sc. in Counselling Psychology and MA in Human Resource Management, Development Management, Human Resource and Organisation Management and Social Entrepreneurship also PG Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations as well Human Resource Management specialisations are available. M.PHIL

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Percentage criteria: The minimum marks for full-Time M.Phil. Degree course shall be 50% for the candidates who have qualified for the Master’s Degree in the respective discipline prior to 01-01-1991 and 55% for the candidates who have qualified for the Master’s degree on or after 01-01-1991.
- There is no provision for rounding off of 54.5% and above marks to 55%. For candidates belonging to SC/ST Community and Disabled (Physically and Visually challenged) candidates, who have qualified for a Master’s Degree on or after 01-01-1991, a concession of 5% of mark, will be given in the minimum eligibility marks prescribed.
- The admission may be made on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in qualifying examination and marks scored in the Entrance Test.
- In the instance of hopefuls of University of Madras including those from self-sufficient school of this University both Internal and External imprints will be considered.
- In the case of candidates who have obtained their P.G. Degree from different Universities, the imprints secured by them in the External Examination in addition to Entrance Test imprints will be thought about to arrive the merit list.
