The IGNOU Karnal Regional Centre was established in 1991. It oversees the educational activities in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Haryana. Over the years, the areas under its supervision have changed. Currently, the Regional Center in Karnal covers the entire state of Haryana except for specific areas like Gurgaon, Faridabad, Mewat, Palwal, Ambala, and Panchkula. This smaller but focused jurisdiction allows the centre to better serve the educational needs of people even in the farthest corners of its coverage area.

 

When RC IGNOU Karnal started in 1991, 09 study centres (Learner Support Centers) were affiliated with the Karnal Regional Center. Presently, the centre has grown and oversees 30 active Learner Support Centers. It also plays a pivotal role as the central coordinating centre for 15 districts within Haryana.

The IGNOU Karnal distance MBA admission eligibility criteria are easy and thus it is available for everyone. For this, the candidates should have passed the Bachelor’s level in any discipline from a recognized university securing not less than 50% marks. It is not essential to have prior work experience when applying for the position since the program does not presuppose it; it is open for graduates. But there is OPENMAT, an entrance test conducted by IGNOU and the candidates have to pass out in this. Once the criteria are fulfilled, the students can move to the application process which involves the completion of the forms, attachments of required documents and application fees which for online and offline application.

Engineering programs are not offered under B.Sc. Thus, there is no civil engineering course available. Candidates have to pursue a distance B.Sc. in IGNOU Karnal or a full-time B.Tech lateral in full-time college. Based on various criteria, admission to IGNOU Karnal can be taken.

IGNOU Karnal offers a Distance MBA program for those who have completed their UG degree in a relevant stream with a specified cut-off from the University. Candidates must have appeared and cleared the OPENMAT entrance exam as it is a mandatory entrance exam for IGNOU admissions.
