IGNOU Gangtok UG courses

The IGNOU Gangtok admission criteria for UG courses might vary based on the course interests of the applicants. Different courses can have different eligibility requirements and criteria. Some factors that need to be considered are Age Criteria, Educational Qualification, work experience (if applicable), reservation criteria, course-specific criteria, document verification, etc.

 

BA admissions: This course is a joint UG program chosen by candidates looking to pursue their Arts and Humanities stream education. The only eligibility the University considers is to have completed exams in 10+2 from a recognized board or its equivalent or should have done the BPP program at IGNOU. The curriculum is available in English, and the students are asked to have secured a minimum of 48 credits in their electives.  

 

B.Com admissions: Under the UG courses offered by the University, B.Com is popular. The course duration is 3 years min and 6 years max. Anyone with a 10+2 degree is qualified for admission. Candidates without a 10+2 should have completed the IGNOU's BPP to be eligible to apply. 

 

BSW Admissions: This course is designed for candidates interested in providing professional assistance to needy people. No age bar is specified for the students to apply for this course. The minimum eligibility is to have done 10+2 or BPP or its equivalent with a min of 50% mark. To complete the course, they must have secured min of 96 credits.

 

Diploma admissions: This course lasts 1 year min and 2 years. All the applicants who have done 10+2 or its equivalent can apply. If they still need to do 10+2 board exams, they must be at least 20 years above. The course curriculum is available in multiple specializations.  

 

IGNOU Gangtok B.Ed. admissions

Bachelor of Education is one of the prominent courses opted for by candidates looking to pursue graduation in the education stream. The course duration is for 2 years. The minimum criteria are to have done graduated degree from a recognized University. For the selection criteria, the students must have passed in B.Ed. Entrance test that the University will conduct. Students can register online for the entrance exam. The admissions will be held online, and the applicants can fill in the application by visiting the official website.

 

IGNOU Gangtok PG courses

IGNOU Gangtok offers a variety of PG programs through its Regional Centre. Some PG programs may require candidates to have relevant work experience in the field. It is widespread for professional programs or those designed for working professionals. There is generally no age limit for admission to most PG programs. 

 

MA admissions: Students are required to have done UG degree or its equivalent in any discipline from an accredited university is required for this course. This program's minimum period is two years and max 5 years. The MA program is available in multiple specializations. The subject can be selected when filling out the application form. 

 

MTTM admissions: This PG degree is for those interested in Tourism and Travel Management. The course curriculum is UGC approved. The minimum criteria are to have done their board exams of 10+2 and graduate in three years with at least 50% marks.

 

IGNOU Gangtok MBA admissions

The distance MBA program is the flagship course. The primary criteria for the candidates are to have completed their bachelor's study from a recognized institution with a minimum of 55% marks before applying. The selection criteria will depend on the IGNOU OPENMAT entrance exam conducted by the University.

 

Students must register for the OPENMAT exam using the University website. Students submit their applications online and enter all the necessary information. 

 

IGNOU Gangtok Admission process

IGNOU Regional Centre of Gangtok will conduct admissions in two batches every year. The first batch will be in January and the second in July. However, the notifications for the admission process will begin 2 months before itself. The steps for the application process remain the same as any other IGNOU regional centre. The entire process will be held online. The applicants can download the Prospectus pdf to learn more about the process and instructions. 

The steps are mentioned below: 

  • Students must visit the official IGNOU Gangtok website and click on apply now tab. 
  • For fresh applicants, the students must click on new registration. If they are re-registering, they can log in to the homepage using the username and password created earlier. 
  • They must submit their personal and educational details in the application form, which are essential to meet the criteria, as part of the application process.
  • The process will be valid after paying the application fees online method. 
  • The ways to make payment can be through net banking/ card or UPI. 
  • In case of cancellation, the registration or program fees will be refunded only after deducting a certain amount specified by the University.  
  • The entire process will take 2 months, from verification to shortlisting of candidates.

IGNOU MSC admission is made based on merit in the last qualifying Exam. Thus, applicants shall possess a bachelor's degree in BSc or equivalent. The mode of IGNOU application process is online. First, interested applicants are required to register on the official website. After that, IGNOU's admission committee will release the merit list based on graduation marks. Finally, students featured on the merit list must visit the study centre or regional centre of IGNOU to verify their documents.
