Himachal Pradesh University Distance Education Courses is designed to provide flexible and convenient management education for individuals unable to attend traditional on-campus classes. HPU Distance Education Courses
The distance courses are inclusive of UG and PG programs with relevant specializations. Himachal Distance Education University conducts regular sem-wise examinations along with academic training. Students can choose their study centre while registering for the examination.
After the examination, the results will be estimated to be out within 45 days. They can check and download the exam results using the student login ID.
HPU Distance Education B.Com admissions
The course duration of B.Com is for 3 years. The minimum eligibility criteria for admissions is to have passed 10+2 board exams in commerce subject or any stream. Otherwise, they must have done a Diploma program or its equivalent with a min of 50% from a recognized board. The medium of distance B.Com program is only available in English. The maximum duration to complete the program is 6 years. The selection process is based on merit and shortlisting of applications. Hence, there is no entrance exam required for admissions.
HPU Distance Education Distance BA admissions
Distance BA program is offered for 3 years and max 6 years. The program is available in the Arts discipline, and no other specializations are offered. The minimum eligibility for the program admissions is to have passed the 10+2 exams from the recognized board. The selections are based on merit scores in the qualifying exam. The curriculum is offered in general, and no other specializations are offered.
The BA course fee structure is approximately INR 11,800 in total. The first year's fees are INR 5000, and the remaining years are INR 3400.
HPU Distance Education B.Ed. admissions
Students shall enrol for Himachal Pradesh University B.Ed Distance education course in English medium of instruction. It is a two-year program. Applicants seeking admission into the B.Ed program must possess a UG degree from an accredited university in any field or discipline, with a minimum average of 55%.
HPU Distance Education Diploma admissions
The University also offers Diploma programs. These programs apply to those who have completed their 10+2 board exams in any stream with a min of 50% marks. The diploma course is provided in specializations like Yoga Studies and Tourist Guides. The Yoga studies specialization is by annual system, and the fee is INR 21,300 annually. However, the Tourist Guide discipline is offered semester-wise, and the fee is INR 10,300.
HPU Distance Education MA admissions
The distance MA program is a two-year program focusing on studying arts and humanities. The distance MA curriculum is provided to teach how to think critically, examine arguments, and express their own opinions.

M.Com program is offered in distance mode. The course duration is 2 years. The minimum requirement for the course admission is to have passed the 12th board exams with a minimum of 3 years of UG degree from a recognized University. The selection process will depend on academic merit or a first come, first serve and application form selection. The M.Com curriculum offers only general and does not have any specializations offered.
Himachal Pradesh University Distance MBA admissions
The duration of the Distance MBA program can vary, but it typically spans over a couple of years. The primary criteria for the candidates are to have completed their bachelor's study from a recognized institution with a minimum of 55% marks before applying. If applicable, they must have at least 2 years of work experience.
The selection criteria will depend on the academic merit and shortlisting of applications. There are no specializations offered in the MBA curriculum. It is availed only in General Management.
