Admission in Gujarat National Law University 2025: Date, Cutoff, Eligibility

Gujarat National Law University Integrated Admission

GNLU provides various integrated law courses at the undergraduate level. The courses last for five years. For admission to the Gujarat National Law University 5-year LLB Courses, Candidates shall have passed 10+2 with not less than 55% marks in any stream. Candidates who have passed 10+2 in a relevant combination stream will be preferred for the respective course. ( 50% for applicants in the SC and ST categories).

Gujarat National Law University Cutoff

Gujarat National Law University LLM Admission

University offers admission to the one-year LLM programme at the PG level. Aspirants must satisfy the GNLU admission criteria to be eligible for admission to the LLM.

 Candidates must have earned an LLB degree from an attributed university with at least a 55% grade point average. Besides, the LLB degree must be recognized by BCI. Students must then take the CLAT PG and receive a good score. For consideration for GNLU Gandhinagar's PG admissions, candidates must achieve the CLAT PG cutoff.

Students who pass the CLAT PG exam must attend CLAT PG counselling. For admission, applicants must select GNLU Gandhinagar as their top choice. Students will be accepted to GNLU Gandhinagar according to their CLAT PG results, the number of seats available, the number of choices made, and their category. Candidates must verify their documentation and pay the GNLU Gandhinagar fees after being given a seat.

GNLU Gandhinagar's cutoff for LLM

GNLU Admission under NRI/FN/JK/NE Categories

• There is also a provision for admission under NRI/JK/NE/FN Categories. Interested applicants under this category must complete an individual expression of interest form.
• For the same, the GNLU admission notification shall be announced via the GNLU website.
• Thus, direct admission in GNLU will be undertaken based on applications received.
• For the detailed selection process, applicants are required to refer to the Gujarat National Law University Prospects.
• NRI category seats will be available for the NRI candidates (Or Indian nationals sponsored by NRI)  as per the Supreme Court Guidelines.
• Foreign National (FN) category seats will be available for Foreign Nationals only, i.e. candidates with overseas citizenship.
• Applicants seeking admission under the FN category are excused from CLAT. They can apply for Direct admission in Gujarat National Law University.
• Unfilled seats of any category, if any, shall be filled as per the choice of the GNLU Executive Council.

GNLU Sports Quota Admission: 

GNLU has 4 Supernumerary Seats (two for Boys & two for Girls) under the Sports Quota. Candidates attentive in seeking admission under this quota can apply directly to the GNLU and must fill out a separate expression of interest form. Candidates having International and National Medals will be given preference.

Gujarat National Law University PG Diploma Admission

GNLU also offers admission to the PG Diploma courses in the law stream and the combination of Humanities, Science and Medical Law. These are unique programmes offered by the University. Candidates with bachelor's degrees in any stream from a recognized university can apply.

Gujarat National Law University Diploma Courses

GNLU offers admission to the Diploma in Ancient Indian Legal Theories and Philosophy. Any pupil pursuing a UG degree from any UGC-recognized University or working professionals should be eligible for course enrollment. The course duration is 6 months, and 15 credits are offered. Students can download the admission form available online. Need to submit the form within a stipulated Gujarat National Law University admission last date.

Gujarat National Law University PhD Admission

Students must hold a Master's degree from an accredited institution with at least 55% overall or the equivalent grade of "B" on the UGC 7-point scale (50% for students in the restricted category). Then, qualified applicants must complete the GNLU online application form on the official website.

• The entrance test is required for applicants to the GNLU Gandhinagar PhD programme.
• The selection of candidates depends on how well they performed in the entrance exam and interview.
• The chosen students must pay the course costs and have their documentation validated.

How to register for CLAT Exam?

Following is the CLAT application process for applying to 5 years LLB and LLM programmes:

• Visit the official CLAT Register page with your contact information to get the login ID and password.
• Fill out the application form now.
• Upload your photo, signature, Category proof, DOB evidence, and papers proving your address.
• Candidates must also provide their academic transcripts. The 10+2 transcript must be submitted for undergraduate programmes, and for graduate programmes, the LLB/five-year integrated LLB certificate is needed.
• Submit the application cost for CLAT (Rs. 4000 for general admission, Rs. 3500 for SC/ST)
• Required documentation includes a scanned photo and signature proof of category, if necessary.
• (If applicable) HSC passing certificate, mark sheet, or scanned copy of LLB degree
• DOB evidence.

Gujarat National Law University Scholarship

 GNLU Academic Star Scholarship: Awarded to CLAT excellent applicants in order of merit.

5 year LLB Programme:

• 100% Tuition Fee Waiver for CLAT Scores 1-20.
• 50% of tuition is waived for CLAT scores between 21 and 40.

LLM Programme

• 100% Tuition Fee Waiver for 1-5 CLAT Rank.
• 50% of the tuition fee for CLAT scores of 5–10.

Fellowship 2

The following list includes some of the University's most prestigious awards:

Award for student exchange programmes: Students who desire to continue higher education through a student exchange programme are eligible for this award. The most that may be awarded in scholarships is Rs 1.50 lakh.

Scholarship for overseas internships: Through the GNLU website, candidates can apply for this scholarship to pursue internships at foreign businesses. Up to Rs 1 lakh in scholarships are available to students.

Scholarships for the GNLU Best Research Award: This fellowship is given to applicants for undergraduate and graduate programmes. Depending on their achievement, students will get tuition cost reductions.

Scholarship from GNLU for students to take part in local, national, and worldwide competitions: This fellowship is open to applicants who have taken part in local, regional, national, or international competitions. The highest scholarship award is Rs 25,000.
