Government Law College is shortly called has GLC and is also considered as one of the most ancient and oldest college of legal studies located in Tamil Nadu. This college is been affiliated by the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. The admission process in this college for the courses offered would be as per the TNDALU and basically it would be done according to the merit.

  • Government Law college offers admission to the courses such as three years LLB and five years BA-LLB as undergraduate courses. The post graduate courses are the LLM which is Master of Law in a specialization called as Property Law.
  • Mostly, the selection of the candidates to the courses will be made according to the merit obtained by candidates in the previous year qualifying examination and as per the norms laid by the TADALU. 
  • In Government Law college admission committee will allot seats on the basis of merit-cum-choice. All the selected students will be called for counseling mandatorily.
  • The basic eligibility criteria for taking GLC admission into BALLB would be passing in 10+2 or intermediate examination with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. The eligibility criteria needed for LLB would be 10+2+3 from any of the Universities of Tamil Nadu.
  • For PG course, LLM the basic qualification needed would be LLB degree passed with at least 45% marks in aggregate. The admission in GLC for this course also will be done based on the merit in previous qualifying examination.
  • Government Law college application process and the admission process both are conducted online for the benefits of students and convenience. The application form will be issued by the TNDALU through offline mode which means the form must be downloaded or collected at the college.
  • The duly filled application form and the application fee must be sent through the post. There will also be certain GLC, Tirunlveli application fee to be paid along with the filled application form.

To get an LLM seat in Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, applicants must have completed an LLB degree with a min of 50% marks followed by CLAT scores.

GLC does not offer LLB program in their academics. The college offers BA LLB as an integrated program for 5 years. Admissions are based on 10+2 board exams.

The BALLB program is an integrated course. The course duration is 5 years. The minimum eligibility is to have finished their board exams like 10+2 with an average of 50% or more.
