Gandhi Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) is widely regarded as a premier institution for training students to become future technocrats. The college was established under the aegis of the Sravanthi Educational trust in 2008. The college is allied with BPUT, Rourkela. At present, GIST offers B Tech at the UG level and a Diploma course in engineering streams. Admission at GIST depends on the student's performance in the entrance exam.

Gandhi Institute of Science and  Technology B.Tech Admission

  1. Gandhi Institute offers a four-year B.Tech degree program in five specializations with an annual intake of 60 seats per branch. But, the Mechanical branch has a 30 seat intake.
  2. The minimum eligibility requirements for admission to B. Tech are a 10+2 or equivalent exam and a combined score of 45% in PCM Subjects.
  3. Admission to B.Tech at GIST is determined by the JEE Main and OJEE exams, followed by counselling sessions

Gandhi Institute of Science and Technology Diploma Admission
GIST offers Diploma courses in three streams with an annual intake of 60 seats. Candidates who qualified in a three-year diploma course with a minimum of 35% can apply for Diploma admission at GIST.  Admissions will be offered as per the guidelines laid down by DTE, Odisha Government.

Gandhi Institute of Science and Technology Application Process

  • The results of the respective examination will determine admission to the various courses.
  • Thus, applicants have to register for the entrance exam OJEE/JEE Main online by logging into the respective website. And, GIST follows the admission guidelines prescribed by BPUT.
  • After qualifying in the entrance exam, candidates will fill the GIST application form based on their qualifying score.

The Gandhi Institute of Science and Technology admission for B.Tech course is through JEE Main counselling based for Indian Students. For aspirants who belong to PIO, FN, NRI and Gulf the admission will be completely based on candidate’s qualified score in their higher secondary education. 50% aggregate score in 12th class for general candidates and 45% for SC/ST/OBC category students. JEE Main based admission procedure is carried out with basic admission process in the college. 15% of seats are reserved for supplementary quota i.e. foreign national’s admission which is set as per the norms of AICTE. Fee structure is INR 4.4L for 4 years.

Is there any facility of direct admission without giving entrance examination?

In order to seek direct admission or management quota admission to Gandhi Institute of Science and Technology applicants should have minimum eligibility of passed in class 12th with minimum of 50% aggregate in science stream. Although by not considering the entrance exam score, quailed exam marks basis seats will be offered.

Hi, at the institute there is only Diploma and B.Tech full time course offered with various specialisations. Also admissions are based on candidate’s performance. There is no B.Sc. or M.Sc. course offered in UG and PG courses.
