M G Charitable Trust created East Point College of Engineering and Technology (EPCET) in Bangalore in 1999. It is accredited by the AICTE and NBA and is connected with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). Moreover, EPCET is a part of the East Point Group of Institutions. It is a prestigious educational institute in Bangalore City. It provides B.Tech degrees in six subjects, M.Tech degrees in seven fields, and PhD degrees in six disciplines. The college's founder and chairman are Dr SM. Venkatpathi. The college has a strong track record of placing students in national and multinational companies.

EPCET B.Tech Admission

Eligibility Requirements

  • Candidates must have received a minimum of 45 percent in their PUC/ 10+2 or equivalent examination, including Physics and Mathematics as obligatory subjects.
  • Students who wish to secure admission to B Tech in their second year are a lateral entry. They must have cleared the Diploma course of three years with a required aggregate score in the concerned discipline.

Selection Criteria

  • For B Tech admission at East Point College, candidates will be selected based on the rank achieved in KCET results.
  • After the result declaration, candidates who have obtained a valid rank in KCET have to attend the KEA's counseling. The final seat allocation will be based on KCET rank.
  • Students will have a high chance of securing admission seats through KCET Counselling if they satisfy EPCET's KCET Cut-Off norms.
  • Candidates from other than Karnataka State have to undertake COMEDK Entrance Exam.
  • The college also reserves certain seats under Management Quota, and interested candidates can apply directly by filling out an online application form through the website.

EPCET M.Tech Admission

The university offers a full-time Master of Engineering degree that lasts two years. In M Tech, seven streams are available. They are as follows:

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have received a minimum of 50% in their BE/ B.Tech. or any other equivalent examination.
  • In case students belong to a reserved category, they can obtain a minimum of 45% marks.

Selection Criteria

  • GATE or Karnataka-PGCET is required for admission to the M.Tech program at EPCET College.
  • Candidates for M.Tech admission at EPCET college are chosen based on their qualifying marks in the GATE or Karnataka-PGCET admission exams.

EPCET PhD. Admission 

  • PhD admission is available to those who have completed a master's degree in the relevant discipline.
  • To get admission to the Ph.D. program at EPCET, an applicant must pass the college's entrance exam and interview.

In this college I took admission based on the KCET marks and other students had taken admission through the COMEDK but most of them had taken East Point College of Engineering Technology admission through KCET only. By attending the counselling based on KCET we get government seat.

The applicants must have appeared for KCET pr COMED K at the state level or JEE Main at the national level to qualify for B-Tech admissions. If the students haven’t secured eligible scores they can then opt for direct or management quota seats.

Eligible students with 10+2 exams with KCET or COMED K cut-off scores can send in their applications online mode by visiting the official website and upload the required documents & paying the application fee to complete the process.
