YSP Nauni exclusively offers BSc with specializations in horticulture and Forestry. Candidates must have acknowledged at least 50% of the possible points in their 10+2 English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics (45% of the possible points in the case of SC/ST/Physically Challenged category candidates/in-service nominees of the Himachal Pradesh Government).
OR The candidate must have earned at least 60% of the total possible points, or a "B" grade or its equivalent, in an examination from a university, board, college, or school in a foreign nation that the Academic Council has determined to be equal to the 10+2 program.

Selection Criteria
Normal Seat:
For admission to the BSc under the general quota, candidates must appear for the Entrance Exam. The marks obtained in the entrance exam will be considered for admission to the BSc. The Dr. Y.S. Parmar University syllabus for the entrance test is mentioned in annexure-I of the Prospectus.
It is also important for the applicants to satisfy the Y.S. Parmar University cut-off. The candidates who secured less than 45 marks in the entrance test will not be considered for appearing in the Counselling Process. Only those who qualify for the cutoff can attend the Counselling.
If two or more students obtain the same marks, the student with the highest aggregate marks at the qualifying examination, i.e., 10+2 level, shall be considered for admission. If a tie still occurs, the elder will be considered for admission.
Self-financing Seat:
Marks obtained at 10+2 level in mainstream subjects such as English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/ Mathematics will be considered for BSc admission under the Self-Financing Quota.
Sport and Co-curricular activities seat (Normal Seat Only):
Eligibility criteria will be the same as the general quota for BSc programs. The Merit of applicants will be determined based on the score in different sports & co-curricular activities during the last 4 academic years as per the weightage of different activities. Only one sport and co-curricular activity certificate that is most valuable to the applicant (highest score) per year will be considered.
If the applicants have equivalent aggregate scores under the sports category, a candidate with higher marks in the entrance test (Not less than 45 marks) shall be placed in the higher merit list.
Dr Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry MSc Admissions
The minimum eligibility requirement for MSc admission is graduates from recognized universities with a minimum of 60% in the relevant degree and a general grade point average (OGPA) of 6.00/10.00 (relaxable by 5% in the case of SC/ ST/ Physically Challenged applicants and in-service nominees).
First Preference: The candidates who have passed out their UG degrees from the ICAR accredited Universities/ Colleges.
Second Preference: If seats remain vacant, applicants with a 4-year degree program from private agricultural universities that are not accredited by ICAR, even though affiliated with government institutions, will be considered for admission.

Normal/self-financing Seats: The results of the Postgraduate Entrance Test (PGET/ Dr Y.S. Parmar University PG Entrance Exam) will be evaluated for admission to Normal and Self-financing seats
Seats for sports and co-curricular activities (Only for Normal Seats): The eligibility requirements will be the same as those of other candidates applying under Normal/Self-Fiancing seats. Candidates Merit will be calculated based on their aggregate score in various sports and co-curricular activities during the past four academic years. These candidates are even supposed to appear for the Y.S. Parmar Nauni University Entrance Exam.

Dr Y.S. Parmar University MBA gives students the social purpose, intellectual, and interpersonal skills they need to perform as managers in the corporate sector. The course develops the students' entrepreneurial skills to make them successful change agents and cultivates the student's ability to establish high standards for their managerial duties.
Eligibility Criteria for MBA
A BSc in Agricultural Sciences with a minimum of 55% of the required marks from an accredited university or an OGPA of 5.50/10 under the course credit system, or a degree from a foreign university with at least a "B" grade by the University, is required for the MBA (Agribusiness).
Graduates from any subject with at least 50% (45% for SC/ST applicants) under the yearly system or its equivalent under the course credit system from a recognized University are eligible for the MBA (General), as are degrees from overseas universities with at least a "B" grade or its equivalent.
(i) Written Exam
All qualified applicants seeking admission for regular and self-financing seats must take a written exam held by this University on a fixed day on the main campus at Nauni and apply separately for admission to this course.
(ii) Personal Interview and Group Discussion
The group discussion and personal interview will occur at 10 AM on the designated date in the College of Horticulture. Candidates must present authentic certificates for verification, as mentioned. B) MBA (Genera) Admission Procedure
(i) Written Exam
All eligible applicants seeking admission to regular and self-financing seats must appear in the HP-CMAT, administered by Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, on the appointed day and apply individually for admission to this University.
(ii) Personal Interview and Group Discussion
The shortlisted applicants' group discussion and personal interview, including those applying for self-financing seats, will be held on the specified date at 10:00 AM in the College of Horticulture. As mentioned, candidates must present authentic certificates for verification.

PhD Horticulture requires an M.Sc. degree in the relevant subject from a university recognized under the ICAR-AU education system, with a research thesis succumbed in partial fulfillment of the program requirements and an overall grade point average of 6.50/10 (65%).
An M-Sc degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university under the ICAR-AU system of education with a research thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the program in the relevant discipline and an OGPA of 6.50/10 (65% marks) is required for a PhD in forestry, agroforestry, forest genetic resources, medicinal and aromatic plants, silviculture, and wood science and technology.

The minimal requirement for a diploma program is passing the 10+2 exam, or an equivalent test, from a recognized university or board with a minimum of 40% overall (or 35% in the case of SC/ST).
